Can't blame him. Gotta go where you think you'll get PT the earliest.

Honest question, who are these LSU coaching sources? Y'all had me convinced he was LSU bound. 247 and Jimmy Smith seemed extremely confident.

Appreciate the congrats.

Most coaches are always confident on the recruiting trail. They have great connections with guys but have no idea how relationships are with other staffs. You can really only tell when your relationship sucks like the Texas coaches with Elam.

Kids tell coaches what they want to hear. Sometimes they are just trying to keep everyone in the dark. Sometimes I think they're really torn, which is probably the case here with Elam. He may have told the LSU coaches last night he was picking LSU, then woke up this morning and talked to mom who convinced him to pick A&M.

A&M defensive backfield is going to get crowded very soon starting in 2015.

Seniors: Harris, Burns
Juniors: Ellis, Wiggins, Garner, Sezer
Sophomores: Davis, Harvey, Watts, Wilson, Evans
Freshmen: Elam, (Sheffield), Dunning, Pryor, Capers-Smith, (Hill/Boyd)

I think people who follow recruiting think it's like I love this school and hate that one. Most of the time it's really tough. There are things about both schools you may like. And you probably like the coaches at both places so when talking to them, it's all awesome.

This is pretty unlikely. People had to pick someone which is why the CB started coming in. And that CB thing is a mess because there are so many followers. The more you see for one school, the more who have no pick jump on it.

And I'm not sure why every time that happens people jump to the conclusion a kid lied or misled their school. Elam told our coaches he'd call them today about his decision, not before. I doubt he told anything to LSU last night. My guess is they just felt really good with their relationship and that's what the "insiders" based it off of.

Totally agree. I dont think most these kids lie, I think they just really like a few schools. How could you not? You go on visits and get everything thrown at you, it makes for a really tough decision.

^^this...everyone thinks it's "weird" because the kid kept it close to his vest and some people "thought" they knew where he was going...or felt very confident. I'm sure it was a tough decision for him...glad he chose the Aggies!

What is he, about good cornerback size? Yeah, he fits the description.

no they think it's weird because "insiders" randomly were saying he was a strong lean to LSU. And they were wrong, per usual.

nothing more, nothing less. I wish him the best.

If any of us have learned anything in 2014 it's that LSU's recruiting "insiders" have no fricking clue.

Huge pickup for us, and if I was an LSU fan, I wouldn't want to see Jimmy Smith predict another player to the Tigers again
