I just got back from a free trip to PCB this weekend...I have never seen more drunk, fat, and stupid Alabama sidewalk fans in my life. Kind of sours those white sugary beaches

Getting ready to fly out of Hawaii tonight. Sat next to a family from Baton Rouge at a Luau. Delightful family. Had a sensible conversation about SEC football and Les Miles. And none of it affected my opinion of Hawaii. This is a weird board sometimes.

Well BigPapi, I am kind of partial to Sanibel and Captiva Islands as well as Marco Island. I enjoy all three as much as I do the 30A stretch.

30a is nice but kinda overrated.
Orange Beach is not as nice but not too bad either. less crowded than Destin which makes them equal imo.

Just stop cokebottle....you are making yourself look stupid. I'd suggest going then get back us. No comparison. I live in TX, been to all you have suggested, and own a place near 30a...that ought to tell you something...
Nope, won't be going. No reason when better beaches are in Texas.

Texas beaches don't stand a chance against fla panhandle and Alabama beaches. You need to get out more.
Nice to see the Texas hubris on at full power this Monday morning.

Yeah, it's amazing how this part of the coast has changed.
It's really amazing how 30A has changed. Been going down to Seagrove for 30+ years and it makes me a little sad to see how much it has grown up.

Texas has some very underrated beaches. I think you're right, most people think of Galveston and that's it.

Yup. We've been going for a long time as well (we used to go to Destin but fled it due to crowding). Now 30A is getting too crowded, too. We're looking at going down further in the future to St. George Island to try to get away from the crowds and experience some of "old Florida."
As for the beach debate: we do Palm Beach every year as well for Spring Break (mother in law snowbirds down there, so we go down to let her spend some time with the grandkids). I pretty much prefer everything about 30A over the Palm Beach area, though watching the kiteboarders in Palm Beach is pretty freaking awesome.

Mizzou fans try way too hard much like Arkansas fans do.

Don't go to St George Island !!! Everything east of PCB is crap! Im telling you, stay away! It is no good! Stay on 30A. Sand is terrible, water is terrible, people are turrible. To sum it up, it is terrible. And that have sharks bigger than houses...and jelly fish...and birds that dive bomb your kids heads...and....its terrible! Stay on 30a where white bread can survive

I know it. I hesitated to even post the name of the place for fear of endangering the lives of board members who might decide to brave such a dangerous and wild locale.
This looks like a hellish place.

Just got back from a week at Destin. We stay on the bay side. It is getting crowded, but the trip was free and enjoyed the heck out of it. We usually only go out to eat a couple of times. Grill out at the house the rest of the time.
