There aren't 6 hotels left on PCB. Condo's bought out most of the hotels and built there.

I see a lot of cheap hotels...

Either way, some of you get really arse hurt over the opinions of strangers on the internet. It's cute.

PCB isn't everyone's cup of tea. 30A isn't either.

So you are saying there are no nice parts of PCB?

I didn't say that. Point out where I said that. There are always exceptions.

I'm not familiar with them if there are.

That link shows hotels that aren't on the beach. Again......from Thomas Drive (the extreme east end of the beach) to more than a mile past where Miracle Strip used to be, there isn't a hotel on either side of the road.

.........and there are just as many hotels on 30a.

You are right, but to say the class of people that stay at one as opposed to the other, which you did, is pure ignorance.

I can tell from your post that you've only ever been to Galveston. That's sad.

We returned from our first trip ever to 30A last weekend and it was pretty nice. Considering returning again next summer and may stay at seaside. Loved the food trucks and the grocery store they have there and the wife liked the shops.

Most of those are resorts and most are far more expensive than the places in PCB.

You are talking to somebody who grew up on PCB. I have seen how PCB has changed over the last ten, twenty, thirty years. I grew up driving my truck on the dunes (yes it was illegal then also) off of 30a. I know what's there now. You have "visited". I was "playing" (hunting, fishing, fricking, partying) off of 30a in the lat '70's. 30a is newer. That is the only difference.

ETA: Now if you are talking about WaterColor. You are correct. But just 30a in general, again..........you are dead wrong.

A poster on another State message board went to the SECN launch party and said he was mortified by how bad A&M fans were. Said we made a huge mistake bringing them in.

Yup, and now you're stuck with us

My family is full of 30a hipsters. Grandparents had a house there and sold it like 5 years ago. So much changed and it's funny that it's the in place to go now.

The couple of times we've gone back it's not even like vacation. You see 4-5 people from home any time you go out to eat.

Yeah, it's amazing how this part of the coast has changed. I can remember going to Pensacola when I was young. Grandparents lived there. The only thing on 98 from PCB to Ft. Walton Beach was a liquor store. Now there is Destin and Sandestin. 30a has changed so much. I had a good buddy who's parents had a beach house at Seagrove. They didn't have neighbors for miles. There used to be nothing but dunes, trees, and rattlesnakes.

Brown, nasty sand

vs...

White, clean beautiful sugar sand

and an amazing boat fleet

and of course Crab Island

Destin >>> every other beach in the United States
