I prefer Starkville to Oxford. I know I'm in the minority but I would rather be in Starkville. As for Ocean Springs, na, ill pass.

Oxford is much more fun than Starkville, but Starkville seems to have more down to earth people. That's just my opinion, which could be swayed cause I go to MSU.

I'm partial to Cape because it's home for me
My dad lives in Sikeston, which is not ideal lol.. He has a ranch between Benton and Marble Hill out in the boonies that is really pretty though...
Cape isn't bad, at least y'all have hills. Sikeston is like dropping a shitty town in the worlds biggest rice patty/mosquito habitat. My only issue with cape is SEMO.

Well no shite. It's the summer. I've never met someone who hated their gameday experience while in Starkville.
What's summer got to do with it? Game day is Starkville is average at best.

Yeah I wondered about that one. Daughter is at LTU and I've had margaritas there. And her BF is a bartender.

I've never liked Hattiesburg for some reason. It might be because Hwy 49 runs through it, and Hwy 49 is the biggest piece of shite highway I've ever traveled.

Said every State student ever. It's time to come up with more creative cliches.
Even though I hate my hometown, I'd like to give Cleveland a shout out for one of the best small towns in Mississippi. The smithsonian institute rated Cleveland as the 2nd best small town in the country.

Yeah I've never left Hattiesburg saying "what a nice town."

I have to second this. Sewanee is awesome and beautiful.

Starkville has a lot of potential. It wouldn't be very difficult to make it a lot better, but there are too many old hucklebucks in town that don't like change, good change. That also goes for much of the state in general.

It's the truth though. Time to face the facts.

I dislike Starkville because I hate down-to-earth people. They're so plebeian and probably partake of base sorts of entertainment like watching sports and drinking 3 year old blended scotch. Give me effete snobs any day of the week.

Fredricksburg, TX. Although caters too much to tourism. Port O'Connor is you're in to fishing towns.
My girlfriend's mom lives in Abita Springs, LA. Thats a nice litle town there.
Lived in Opp, AL for a little while which was close to Andalusia. I always liked Andalusia.

it's just a bit touristy for my taste which I presume is why you might be calling it "trashy" but I don't think that's really fair at all. It's a really nice place with some great house brews and small strip of shops and a few "hotspot" places if you're in a festive mood.
Hermann in Mo., is a little more laid back and smaller town feeling with less of a tourist motif, in the mid summer it's a fantastic place to visit, with top notch local brews/wines.
I guess some would consider Pigeon Forge and Branson "small towns", each has their appeal, I'm sure most don't need a rundown on them.

We're gonna need Engie to quantify how State has more down to earth people (which is impossible to define) than Ole Miss before I face the facts.
