common mistake dont feel bad

No, it actually isn't a common mistake at all...AU has one potentially great back. Most people that know what they're talking about don't rank AU's RB corp very highly. It is composed of other team's scraps, a coach's son (was a pity offer), a nobody, and Roc. This is not the composition of a top RB group.

No I said exactly what I meant. The best running backs are between LSU, BAMA, UGA, and ARKY. Auburn will have the best running team though

Agree on the first part, let's not get ahead of ourselves on the second part. They'll be top 2-3 and are the safe preseason bet to be the best statistical running team, but it isn't set in stone.

They lost two key cogs in that machine and don't have ready replacements. The closest thing they have to Mason's talent on the roster is a true freshman and the new LT just recovered from cancer. He may end up pretty good, but he won't be stepping in for a possible top 5 draft pick without missing a beat. Anyone thinking otherwise needs to remember that it is "puff, puff, pass" and quit bogarting the damn blunt.

This is just silly. CAP has more talent than Mason, imo. I don't know why they stopped sharing carries last year, CAP isn't to be taken lightly. On top of that Grant is great in his role and could easily average something close to 10 YPC in that offense, supposing he doesn't get high carry numbers of course.

Coach's son pity offer that was a composite 3-star coming out of JUCO. Even if you do think he is actually a solid back (which I very much disagree with), you can't really think he is better than Mason. That is ridiculous.

This is kind of my point. Grant is not a good back. In this offense, though, he could put up good numbers and so AU could still be the top rushing team statistically, even though the RB corp is 5th at best.

Also, you're probably reaching more than a little with 10 ypc unless he only has around 60 plays all year again this year. I'm guessing he'll be playing a bit more without Mason around to carry the load. Depending on Roc, of course.

Not really. He had 9.8 last year. If he averages 9 ypc this year, would you not say that is close to 10?

RB corp is 5th at best.

He has more physical talent than Mason. That you wouldn't even classify him as a "solid back" makes you appear rather delusional. He won't get as much production as Mason, most likely. Too many players splitting carries, and more passing.

I can't wait to see your reaction when he's one of the top rushers in the SEC.

I'd probably go with UGA, except for the durability/injury prone issues of Gurley and Marshall...

Youd have to be a complete moron to choose Gurley/Marshall over Yeldon/Drake/Henry

Not really. Gurley, if healthy, is more talented than any of those iyam. Marshall can be just as productive as Drake.

I have no idea who he is, so I have no idea whether he's any good, but, eesh...when was the last time a featured back in a run-heavy offense averaged 9 ypc?

I would take Gurley and a Mr. Goodbar over Bama's backs. And that's nothing against Yeldon or the other two it's just that Gurley is that good.

Did you not watch much football last year?

What do you define as feature back?

The role he plays is notorious for having big plays. Onterrio McCalebb averaged about 9 I believe in 2010.

I'd put Henry over Drake, but that is pretty close to a toss up. The rest I agree with.
