That quote is Saban's real issue and it is obvious. Getting a chuckle out of those who truly fell for the safety angle.

He's constantly talking from both sides of his mouth. When he has a bad season, you guys will see how gullible and fortunate, you really were.
Lane Kiffen? I wonder how many offers ole Lane had?

No, you need to take a break.
So, I suppose a leading neurologist testifying before congess that fatigue can lead to injuries didn't happen and/or you are smarter than a neurologist !!
I could give a damn, because unlike these fools testimony, Bama has won 3 national titles during this era, it has made most teams soft, and that is to our advantage.... I think last year was a small down year as for talent on our defense, but had nothing to do with the HUNH offense.
I could give a damn whether the rule gets passed or not, my suggestion is to take a knee when players tire and screw the byches like the Aubies who complain about it.
My complaint, is with crybaby byches who try and put words in CNS & other coaches mouths about why they are for the new rule, ST#U.K. telling us what someone else believes, state your own case but quit acting like fools, trying to tell everyone else that some coach is scared when he has lost 9 games in 6 years & won 3 national titles. So if our kicker, who had missed like 2 FGs all year before, had made one of his 3 easy FGs or Cooper doesn't drop an easy pass, we beat a soft Mizzou and make the BCSNCG CNS would still be a genius, but since a kicker missed some makeable FGs, CNS is scared.

I really can't believe that this is confusing to anybody. Saban is paid something like 7 million a year from UA. He is the most influential figure in college football right now. He draws the ratings etc. if he has the clout or potentially has the clout to railroad a rule through the system that could benefit UA both competitively and financially, quite frankly if he did not do that he would be derelict in his duties. He and the UA do not care about other schools, the SEC, or the rest of college football nor should they. It should always be what is best for UA. Now me personally I hope it does not pass and Bama beats all HUNH team next year by 21+, but I don't blame Saban one bit for doing what he is paid to do, which is look out for the best interests of Bama football.

Is Bama/Saban really that scared of the HUNH?
Posted on 2/22/14 at 6:00 am to Smoke7024
That is a good question smoke. I personally don't believe that is what is the motivation. Based on his track record and his history of loving challenges, etc. I would think it would be a motivator for him, to prove that he can find a scheme to stop anything. Another point is, rules have been created over the years to specifically hurt Bama and more recently Saban. The scholarship reductions, the spring no contact, Etc. That rule in particular was created because Saban worked harder than most on spring recruiting and made a huge impression during that time, in some minds it was an unfair advantage. So maybe this is a little pay back???

What a load of crap. Saban has always and always will look for any way of giving himself an advantage either on the field or recruiting trail. This is no different than what he has always done, everybody just has their panties in a wad because the HUNH is the flavor of the week. Saban doesn't give a rats hairy balls what you or anyone else thinks. He gets paid good money to win, if this is part of his process then so be it. Screw all you pansies.

Pretty much this......gimmicks are all these teams have. They can't out recruit Saban and they can't compete with Bama in the college football arms race.

It appears that Saban is still Butt hurt from that Bob Stoops azz kicking! Dude go find a bridge and .........!

Why are you embarrassed ? The belly aching coming from the pro hurry up crowd should confirm for you the advantage they have.
It all about the style of football you want to see.
Arena football or NFL football. You choose.
It is about safety. Who among you have played football? If so, you know defense exerts far more energy than the offense. Not giving the defense time to adjust because of time will lead to exhausted players. This can lead to injuries.
But the real reason I am for this is I like smash mouth football and unless you make a level playing field, traditional defenses will never be able to compete with the HUNH offenses.
I just find 75-56 football with no defense unappealing. For those who disagree,

They can absolutely try to get the offense to jump. It happens all the time.
and again you would be wrong, just like your lsu buddy. These are all very simple rules, and have been around for years now.
I already addressed and corrected cast on his first statement about defensive movement. Now you both are stating the above, which is also wrong.
From the NCAA handbook. Sec18 under Rule2-Definitions:
quote:
Offside
ARTICLE 2. After the ball is ready for play, offside occurs (Rule 7-1-5) when a
defensive player:
a. Is in or beyond the neutral zone when the ball is legally snapped;
b. Contacts an opponent beyond the neutral zone before the ball is snapped;
c. Contacts the ball before it is snapped;
d. Threatens an offensive lineman, causing an immediate reaction, before the
ball is snapped (A.R. 7-1-3-V Note);
e. Crosses the neutral zone and charges toward a Team A back (A.R. 7-1-5-III);
or
f. Is not behind his restraining line when the ball is legally free-kicked.
Offside occurs
Note, the defensive player does not have to enter the neutral zone to be called for the penalty.
anymore questions?
