Lord and y'all say auburn is cultish.

I don't know where this shite comes from about SOLELY player safety

Really?

quote:

He is on the record that the HUNH has inherient flaw as far fairness to the D to get its personel on the field.

The flaw is he thinks its unfair because he can't do what he wants but in reality the offense is far more restricted at player substitutions than the defense. It's a fact

quote:

Lastly, I have been consistent in my position that Saban has a view and is certainly entitled to use his bully pulpit. You say the safety issue is b.s.....Nick says it ain't....but if Nick wants it then its good for Bama...and at the end of the day I am down for what helps Bama not what is good for Gus and Auburn.

Get through your barntard brain homer.....Saban has been on the record about the HUNH for awhile. He is a defensive coach at heart. He thinks the
quote:

HUNH gives an unfair advanatge to the offense. Therefore, he doesn't like it and is using his bully pulpit to try and change the rule. This benefits Saban and thus benefits Bama.

I for one am glad to have a coach who wants to win so badly he does everything on and off the field that is legal to do so. That is what makes Bama and Saban so succesful. It doesn't make Saban wrong, it makes him smarter than you.

Life does not revolve around bammer. There are 100+ college football programs who want the game to be played fairly and want to win and have a good time JUST AS MUCH as bammer. Hard to believe, I know.

So you support a coach who clearly knew which way the wind was blowing when he INVITED HIMSELF to this committee meeting. He knew the majority of coaches did not support changing rules to slow down the game. And yet he was arrogant enough to push for this rule although he knew it would displease 85-90% of all coaches and fans. Why? So HIS coaching job would be easier, not because of any thought of safety but a convenient premise to hide behind.

So even now, knowing that the majority of people would hate the rule change, you're still defending your coach for being selfish enough to want it changed for him.

When that fails, only then can you secretly lobby for a change in the rules based on the bs guise of player safety.

The D is able to sub if they want at any time while they are doing that, just need to be fast and attentive

LOL. And I'm sure the offense wouldn't fake the D out to take advantage of that, no?

Do you have a problem with the offenses' rules regarding their substitutions?

Nah, I just think meerkating looks ridiculous when teams do it. It's an exploit of the rules to gain an advantage, WHICH has been happening since the game began. Makes for exciting football, I guess.

I don't really support a HUNH\Substitution rule. As more teams go to the HUNH, defenses and D coordinators need to evolve to combat it.

Or had a FG kicker who hadn't missed 3 he should have made before then.

One was so bad I think could have gotten closer to the uprights, and I haven't kicked one in almost 40 years.

While this is true the O can line up with the threat of snapping the ball and sit on the line while coaches like Gus wait to signal in the play thus preventing the D from subbing in their package.

This is the crux of Nick's complaint.....

So you think that is what he told the committee about preventing injuries?

Saban has been against the HUNH for a while, but he never once mentioned an injury risk until Bert said it. Is Bert smarter than Saban?

Total truth. But they may actually have some objectivity toward their program. Seems there are some Bama fans that live in some sort of strange fantasy land where nothing their coach does is anything but pure, perfect, and above any reproach whatsoever.

So - how's the weather in that fantasy land? I'm guessing it's just perfect. Amiright?
