I love the "special pressure" part. Because the folks in Texas would be perfectly happy paying him a huge salary to NOT win national championships. He could just take it easy with no expectations to live up to...

I doubt that. Saban is going nowhere.

$$$$$$$$$ and they have lots of it.

They'd have to offer well north of $10MM per season before they'd hit a number that we wouldn't match. And we can give him something else that Texas won't, 100% control. Saban answers to no one but the university president at Alabama (not even the AD).

Saban's first contract with Alabama was for less money than he was making with the Dolphins.

Sorry if this shatters your world and your angry little half baked crazy arse worldview

Just wondering, but for those of you who say that Saban would welcome the challenge at Texas, what makes Texas so challenging for winning a national championship? You are in one of the best recruiting grounds, limitless money to spend, and it has the foundation of a great program. I don't see the real challenge.

There are also challenges left at Bama:
-Winning as many championships as Bear
- Winning a national championship during the playoff era.

I really don't care one way or another, but pre saban, it was similar at bama. He dictated and you gave it to him, so what makes you think the same doesn't happen at a desperate institution.

Not by much per year, but the contract itself was worth more and bonuses put it above.

It is so fricking hilarious how you Gumps think there is no way in hell that the all mighty Saban would never leave Alabama.

He may or may not but this shite is funny never the less. The only difference is we knew it was only a matter of time no matter how much he LIED with such a straight face. Did it at LSU, did it at Miami. What the hell makes y'all clowns think it is no different there.

I'm in the group that believes all the talk is just BS. But, if it WERE just money, if anyone thinks Alabama can match Texas you're either kidding yourself or, have no idea the resources available to Texas. In NCAA football, they have no financial peer and it ain't even close.

Alabama is catching up in cash flow to somewhat match. However I think at some point bama realizes what's going on and places the institution above him and puts a line in the sand.

Like I said, I think it is all BS but on the money thing, there's not enough in Alabama to threaten Texas' position at the top.

You have to understand this cycle is SO old.

A rumor comes about Saban leaving. Everyone goes nuts and LSU fans say " he only cares about ego u gumps are delusional he's gonna leave." Then he doesn't leave.

This has happened at least once a month, every month, for the last five goddamn years.
