Van Alstyne

I'm a huge fan of Van Alstyne. He moved to the business school as the coordinator of a program, Fellows, and was great. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know him.

GVA made the transition to the business school when I was an upperclassman business major. Was very cool running into him around Wehner High. He always remembered who I was and made the time to chat with me.

Great guy

I liked him, too for the most part. He took on the guidon traditions and prohibited a lot of the tools we used to discipline the freshmen right out of the gate. That's guaranteed to piss off the upperclassmen. A lot of that stuff was bs that needed to change, imo.

The old guys who visited my fish year were surprised that we all liked Hopgood.

The impression I got was that Hopgood and Van Alstyne were trying too hard to make the Aggie Corps like the service academies, which was COMPLETELY the wrong answer.

To his credit though, Hopgood shut Sachtleben down when he tried to separate all NROTC cadets from the cadet corps and have them all report to him.

so the current rumor is that the coach who Jordan publicly told to frick off and used the phrase "we develop nfl tes" was strong. ive never wished for something to be as true as this

Sorry, I'm a bit confused. You're saying Strong told Jordan Davis, "We use TE like the NFL," and Jordan publicly told Strong to frick off?

Sure no problem! How about some follow up butthurt?

Couldn't be a function of the gullibility of Jordan Davis or his low intellect? Or hadn't you considered that alternative root cause? In any case, a kid who dumps on a coach who's only trying to give him a free college education is kind of a retard wouldn't you agree? This is a step below the classless hat ceremony which is a d-bag move.

Sumlin has only had one season in his entire coaching career where the entire TE roster totaled more than a handful of catches. Hope this kid likes OL.

Yep, Davis is the new Martellus. I'm glad he'll never win anything. I'm going to enjoy seeing his disappointed face on tv now. Chump.

Cons: no passes to TEs
Pros: DJ, swag

Advantage: Rumlin

Edit: Bonus round:

quote:

Saban's a $#@!ing joke. He's a senior citizen who's won a lot of games with a highly paid semi-pro team, but got his arse handed to him hard by the $#@!ty agriloids and $ooner$. Lucked out by a dirty hit on McCoy or he'd got his arse handed to him by fellow washed-up, retiree Mack Daddy, too. We can obviously get our asses kicked by Big Game all by ourselves.

That's gotta be from shaggy. It's fun seeing them lash out, but that place will warp your mind if you spend too much time there. You forget what's real.

I do wonder what this Shaggy poster thinks of his own post on the class scale.

I mean I would assume we would put in a word with a top guy- does the consideration have any real basis?

I mean, we're in his top 7. I'm not sure if he has scheduled a visit? We may be in it for quite a few national guys if we look good this fall. Several national analysts/scouts/writers said we were the team that seemed to be buzzing with the recruits at "The Opening". It makes sense after a lot of the recruits that had strong showings are our commits/hightargets.

I doubt he would come right after we got the #1 overall last year at his same position. We'd have a hell of a rotation though.
