the808bass won't get fooled again. Meet the new coach. Same as the old coach.

I would much prefer the Hawaii transfer for one year as opposed to taking a Rector type commit who will probably be in over his head. Doesn't hurt our numbers. Same thing with Kreklow. Need a shooter and need a point guard. So both of these fill those needs without taking a bench warmer for 4 years. I actually think it's pretty smart and allows us to be competitive. As opposed to Haith whom was just trying to scour for talent and doesn't know a thing about forming a cohesive unit. This late in the game I don't really know what you expect KA to do. If he can somehow hold on to Wright and get the Mitchell kid I'd be somewhat optimistic about the near future.

Hope he's good. I just find it hard getting excited about a kid transferring from Hawaii who didn't even average double digits there. His assists per game seem solid though. But against what kind of competition?

I don't remember anyone with Hawaii impressing me much in the game in KC. Looking at his numbers in that game, he was 3/12 from the field and 0/3 from three with 2 assists and 1 turnover. And our perimeter defense sucked. Hope he's something more than what that shows, but just doesn't excite me.

We're bringing in a guy who averaged more points last year than anybody we already had on the team, and we're complaining because he doesn't score enough points.

I'm not complaining, I'm just not getting my expectations up. And as an aside, it didn't take much to average more than what we have coming in.

Most teams have 3 or 4 guys coming back who averaged more than our leading returning scorer.

Looks like we got out-recruited by ULL.

JUCO guard Jay Wright has committed to UL-Lafayette, a source says.

Or wait. No. We never wanted him in the first place.

Sucks. Doesn't it. The obvious next step is to not bring in a PG for next season.

It does suck. Some young talent to work with, but next year gonna be tough. My guess is we'll see some of Clark sliding over to the 2 at times. We are just very short in terms of numbers at the 2 and 3 spots, especially until Beidschied joins the team.

If you don't bite the bullet and actually rebuild instead of duct taping shite together, you'll have to do this again next year.

And to some extent that's on Alden for the manner in which he did the last two hires. It puts extra pressure on the coach off the bat and to some extent they have to go for the fast fix.

Picking up a transfer to play point guard, a position we otherwise would have had no one competent to play really upsets you this much?

Hey, anyone know of a mizzou sports board where you can actually read about real sports information and not just a bunch of whining and griping? If anyone knows where that urhatin it guy went, I'd like to follow......

Think he's mostly hanging out on one of the pay sites. 247 maybe? Dunno.

Kind of a real dead period when it comes to sports information though. I'll talk baseball with ya all day long if you want. But if I talk about how Mizzou is last in the SEC in hitting, don't take it as griping, it's just stating a fact.

Pipe into the softball thread. Never followed college softball, but these ladies got me hooked.

Basketball, there just isn't much out there beyond who signed, who left and who we're pursuing. Loos was officially announced as an assistant today, but we've kind of known that for a while now.

It doesn't upset me at all. I lived my entire life yesterday and didn't think about it but for the few moments I read about it and posted about it here. You can continue to try to make this about me and I'll keep discussing basketball.

Ah, in that case, your posts really send a confusing message. Some might think you are upset that Coach Anderson added Shamburger to the team.

Edit: Is that second comma above a mistake?

If anything, the impression I'm getting is he's just taking a wait and see attitude. Is Shamburger so good that one is supposed to jump up and down about the signing and if one doesn't, it means they're upset?

No jumping up and down necessary. It's pretty obvious that he improves our team though.

That is your opinion and that's cool. Some, including myself, will just wait until some games are played to see how much he helps. I suppose it "improves" the team in so far as they had an empty scholarship before and now they've filled that scholarship. Beyond that, time will tell. I'm open to listening though, if you think he improves the team more than simply filling a spot, what about his game gives you that opinion? How much does he improve the team? Will it translate to wins on the court? Will it end in making the tourney? Just curious
