We were in a restaurant. The man and his wife had on their ND attire.
On the way out I stopped by their table and asked if they are going to win. The man said they hope to play a good game.
I told them that I went to LSU and will be cheering for the Irish. Neither one even smiled or said thank you.
I might have to cheer for the Gumps after that experience.
Maybe they were thinking "who the frick is this guy and why is he disturbing our dinner?"

What position did you play for LSU in that game?

Probably heard all the stories about sports fans in La. and were a little worried, what with all the teabagging and whatnot.

maybe they were stunned you interrupted their dinner to talk about college football.
oh look, I should probably read a thread before responding.

Awesome. Congratulations. That season was very special.
I'm obviusly giving the guy a little too much shite, I just think thanking people and shaking their hands is a little over the top. My reaction would be more along the lines of "yeah, I was very happy, it was a great game." Different strokes.

What did I write to even hint that I played for LSU? That's why I said they congratulated "the Tigers," not "us."
Reading comprehension. Do you know it?

Yeah. So you were thanking them on behalf of the Tigers. I thought you were just a fan. Are you with the atheletic department?
Again, I'm just giving you shite. You just take a different approach than I do. That's cool.

It's changed to more of a red over the years, but it's still closer to crimson than LSU is to gold.

Why do we give a shite about who you are pulling for?

What are they supposed to thank you for?

For the previous poster; Yes, I am Catholic.
I always thought that it was William Sydney Porter who wrote under the nom de plume "O'Henry," but now I know that it was really RhodeIslandRed, the best short story author in history. frick, dude, I've read that part where you shake Titan fans' hands like fifteen times. It's compelling, and it gives real insight into the human condition. I read it to mom over the phone, and she wept so much that she became caked in the salt from her tears. She's now a pillar, just like Lot's wife.
