I always thought that it was William Sydney Porter who wrote under the nom de plume "O'Henry," but now I know that it was really RhodeIslandRed, the best short story author in history. frick, dude, I've read that part where you shake Titan fans' hands like fifteen times. It's compelling, and it gives real insight into the human condition. I read it to mom over the phone, and she wept so much that she became caked in the salt from her tears. She's now a pillar, just like Lot's wife.
I like the way you tell it better!

I used to live down in Miami and Ft Lauderdale for several years and the only team those people like in College football are the Hurricanes (if they are winning) and Notre Dame. maybe a few Florida and FSU fans but a shitload of ND fans live in Miami.

So, when people say that ND fans were 3:1 over Bama fans - Remember.. there are several million people that live in South Florida that are ND fans.

This might be the most stupid post I've read. Who gives a crap that they didn't smile or say thank you. They're probably in shock that Bama will wipe the floor with them (I HATED TYPING THAT)

We were in a restaurant. The man and his wife had on their ND attire.

On the way out I stopped by their table and asked if they are going to win. The man said they hope to play a good game.

I told them that I went to LSU and will be cheering for the Irish. Neither one even smiled or said thank you.

I might have to cheer for the Gumps after that experience.

Hospitality and "minding your manners" when in public is a Southern thing. Don't be too harsh on 'em; you can still cheer for ND.
