He wouldn't be the first Jarrell Harris or Tyler Love
point taken. but i think this is a little different situation. Harris and Love were both busts (Love to a much higher degree than Harris who was actually a starter on one of the best defenses ever and contributer on two NCs) But I think the circumstances around Collins are a little bit different. Harris and Love were a part of the 2008 recruiting class. In that class I think Saban had a different approach to recruiting. He was still relatively new to the state and his recruiting strategy was different. He went after all the top rated prospects in the state. With the 2012 class, Saban and staff was a lot more familiar with the prospects they were recruiting and much more selective. Collins was Saban's guy for a long long time. I think your point about the potential for bust is still valid, but i dont think its as likely to happen with this 2012 class as it was the 2008 class.

Reid and Lester should be the first 2 safeties taken. Reid is more comparable to Barron. Lester is kind of like a center field safety who is a ball hawk. So whichever NFL team wants to draft a safety first has to decided who they want in specialty.

Let me clarify, I think Collins is about as sure a thing to be a great player as anyone I can remember out of Louisiana. So no, I do not think he will be those guys.

Chris Jones did not start last year. Go back and watch the National title game and then get back to me on who performed when it mattered.

The fact that Lester had to come back for his senior year should tell you something about this comparison. The fact it doesn't is equally telling.

Which only serves to prove your stupidity.

Said same cus they are all returning and Hill is unproven
Ok explain this. Bama is better at WR, because everyone is more experienced, yet LSU is the same at RB, where our group of only freshman and sophmores and are all back with obviously more experience.
And at WR, I wouldn't discount Landry. He should have a good season now that we have an actual QB. He had I think 8 catches in the spring game(yes, I know spring game. doesn't really matter)

Chris Jones had a better game against LSU than Beckham did against BAMA. Going into 2012 Jones is a starter now. Of course you think OBJ is better than Jones because he started for you and he plays for LSU. Would you have said Claiborne was better than Kirkpatrick going into 2011? I think Chris Jones will have the better season and had the better game on January 9th.

Are you fricking brain dead? A guy who started almost an entire season isn't as good as a guy who has 2 catches vs North Texas and a single catch vs Kent State?

Alabama has more returning contributors and a better WR class. OBJ, Landry, Shepard, and whoever else is a solid group dont get me wrong. I said it could change.

First let me say that I dont think Lester is a top 2 safety because I've never thought of him as an elite athlete and safety is a position where you will usually find a couple guys in the country who are elite athletes. But i think staying for his senior year will be a big benefit for Lester. Remember that Barron stayed for his senior year too, although that decision was effected by his injury at the end of his junior year. But as for Lester, I noticed some solid improvement from him this spring. He gets a chance to come back and be the alpha dog in the secondary this year. If he has a big year I could see him going high in the draft, but I dont think his ceiling is as high as Reid's or Barron's is.

CB: Alabama, Mathieu is garbage in coverage and Simon is the only corner I respect. Same can be said about Milliner, but chances of Fulton, Belue, and Dixon emerging as a solid corner is likely because they are all Juniors and LSU has freshman backups.

How could we possibly be worse at Running back when we didnt lose a single guy from last year and we added Jeremy Hill (dude is a monster)? Please explain that one

Downgrade at TE
How? I mean we didnt get better but losing Peterson wasnt a loss because he didnt contribute

Downgrade on Dline Brockers>Johnson
Johnson has way more upside than Brockers and nobody knew who the frick Brockers was before the season. Freak is going to be...a freak this year.

Randle, Peterson, Blackwell, Hebert, Dworaczyk, Brockers, Francois, Baker, Claiborne, Brooks, Taylor, and IDK about Hatcher if he started.
Dworaczyk is still on the team and hes second string, LBers will be much improved this year with an influx of talent, Love Brooks but he was a 3rd blitzing corner-not exactly irreplacable, peterson and Herbert can be addition by subtraction in a way.
at Hatcher
Best for last

Lester is better than Reid

Oh I'm sure that had nothing to do with LSU not having a QB that could complete a forward pass. The fact that ODB put up those numbers as a true freshman with the crap LSU rolled out at QB should say something about the kids talent.

No because he's actually a proven player against tough competition. Jones has a whopping 3 catches against scrub teams, with one catch being 30 yards long, which makes up most of his amazing 49 yards on the season.

I don't disagree with any of that.

Wow everything I stated went in one ear and out the other. I think Chris Jones will have the better season and is better than OBJ because he is now a starter, has a 2 year starting QB, and please answer this question: Who had the better game January 9th?
