they also lost to 2 unranked teams
quote:no such thing since '97. your repeating it doesn't make it any more true. you've bought into the spurned media writers' whinings.
split national championship
quote:dang. you are thick headed. no one in america deserved to be in the 2003 bcs national championship game more than lsu. nobody. that includes usc. usc couldn't even beat out okla. usc didn't deserve it and they don't have a part of the bcs championship which is the only recognized championship since '97
2003, nobody deserved it more than the winners, LSU & USC
quote:wow. ok, you're just being stubborn. i get it. nobody deserved it. you've said some stupid things in this thread but, this is the best.
2007, nobody deserved it at all including LSU... but someone had to get it I guess and LSU ended up being that team
usc isn't ahead of lsu. they had one legit championship taken away because of ineligible players. they weren't even the best champs of the bcs era beating a mere 3 ranked teams all season. big whoop.

quote:there is no ap national championship game that the entire bowl system is contracted with. you are wrong.
The BCS/Coaches poll gives out its National Title, and so does the AP
quote:one is legit, the other is for funsies
They are completely separate entities
quote:still wrong.
If they are awarded to 2 different teams, it is considered a split national championship

it sure seems like an opinion

Willing to bet LSU keeps a 2007 AP National Championship Trophy in its trophy case right next to its 2007 BCS Championship Trohpy

yeah, those FACTS influence your OPINION that LSU is the most dominant program of the last decade
those facts dont impress me or influence me nearly as much as they do you, and my opinion is still that USC and Florida were both better
what exactly do you not understand about that
Posted on 10/26/11 at 10:06 pm to bfniii
If LSU won the ap poll every one of you LSU fans would go out and buy NC shirts and hats
Posted on 10/26/11 at 10:07 pm to LarrySellers
Did USC win a championship in 2003?
Posted on 10/26/11 at 10:07 pm to LarrySellers
Larry..please just stop. between Zook 3 years and the last two years of failure Florida has slipped out of this debate and you know it. USC as well......they got caught creating and they are excused as well and you know it.
As much as you hate it..LSU has been the overall best CFB program since 2000 and you know it.
I'm gone to take it easy on you now because I know you having to admit Auburn, LSU and Florida have been better programs since the Bear retired had to be traumatically humbling for you.

not really, during the early 2000s i became quite used to it
part of the ups and downs of a major program. you gotta take the good times with the bad, and now I just look at it as part of the "Process" that led us to the point we are at now
if we were still in the shitter... then yes it would be much harder to speak of

i mean, i've told you what my opinion is. None of that makes me think any less of USC or Florida, and I put them slightly ahead of LSU in terms of dominance
I get it, you disagree... but for the 1 millionth time, its an opinion dude

Yes?
I feel like this is a trick question, b/c I've answered this 100 times already
Posted on 10/26/11 at 10:21 pm to TheDoc
Yea there is an ap trophy and lsu displays that 2007 trophy in the trophy case

You already made a comment that USC was undefeated in regulation in 2003, so I can play that game too.
In regulation, LSU was undefeated in 2007.
And, Kentucky was ranked 17th when we played them, so again, you don't know what the frick you're talking about.

And I still think USC and Florida are slightly ahead of LSU in this discussion, but that's just like, my opinion man
Opinions are like assholes, man.

I never said that? I'd never make such a retarded argument as "undefeated in regulation?"
I responded to someone who made that argument, undefeated in regulation doesn't even make sense

they were top 10 at one point that year as well. Where did they finish the year ranked though? out of the top 25

agreed, your opinion is the answer is LSU, and mine is that it is USC, Then Florida, Then LSU

every bit as much as the coaches poll championship ("crystal ball") counts as a championship.
