Thats false. Kentucky and Missouri had confederate governments that were recognized by the confederate congress. And they held represenatives there from those two states. And they were not added ''late. They were added in 1861. The confederacy considered them apart of their ''nation''. Just like the USA considered all confederate states as part of their nation.

They’re ordered by what came to mind and maybe some effort to keep them in subject groups, tell a story, or add humor. #1 is an obvious contrast from other states in the South and a great way to start things off. #2 raises the stakes.

Missouri the look at me state.
Never seen any one fan base that tries so hard to get attention on here.
Sure there are posters from different teams that fit the bill but a fan base as a whole. Hell most of their own state dont pay any attention to them

And why is Missouri on the Confederate battle flag if it's not Southern?
That's a good question, since about 2/3 of Missourians who fought in the war fought for the Union. Missouri is the ultimate border state. You're not really northern or southern. You're just blah.

Should’ve just said the Outlaw Joey Wales was from Missouri.
That carries more weight than OP’s list

Missouri probably had the best or most famous outlaws real/fiction as a whole but that is hard to judge. Scarface lived in Florida for a bit and Bonny and Clyde(TX) are probably the most romanticized of them all. There’s also 1980s Miami to contend with. Or the Miami mob where dudes lived long, prosperous lives beyond the law.
Only thing I know I should have included is the only world expo.

Neither Missouri or Oklahoma are in "the South."
Oklahoma's definitely a "southern" state. Everyone there sounds like they're from Georgia. But they don't belong in the SEC.
Mizzou is a yankee state 100%.

1) Kentucky bourbon can be enjoyed in many forms and is truly southern.
2. Kentucky’s Confederate Capital was Bowling Green and it is still there.
3. You can ask for tea without sugar.
4 We have good places to eat and don’t have to depend on a fast food chain for roast beef. Go eat at Patti’s in Grand Rivers.
5. Everyone claims a “unique” pizza
6. Dude, most states north of Florida have four distinct seasons. Fall color in eastern KY is awesome.
7. Kentucky has more miles of navigable streams than any state other than Alaska.
8. You have obviously never been to Lake Cumberland.
9. Mammoth Cave is the longest and largest cave in the world.
10. Ever been to Land between the Lakes? Plus KY has the largest Elk herd east of the Rockies.
11. F-150 made in KY. Southern truck made by southerners.
12. Lincoln birthplace Memorial, Jefferson Davis obelisk
13. Alabama and Texas made the playoffs
This is SEC country college ball is king.
Point is every state can make an impressive list but yours has Yankee written all over it.

I always considered Oklahoma as part Midwest, part Great Plains -panhandle part. Not geographically West, although very close at the west edge. Southwest would be West Texas, NM, AZ and Southern Cal.
Missouri is entirely Midwest.
Missouri is entirely Midwest.
