FSU was screwed - they deserved to be in over Michigan -

1 Washington
2 FSU
3 Alabama
4 Georgia

Michigan had the worst SOS of anyone in the CFP Top 10 rankings after Saturday's games were complete -

committee left out the WRONG 13-0 conference champ - it should've been the Little10 winner -

But not Texas, right?

This is just more BS for an BS OP-ED.

Texas played the 9-3 Mullets. Bama beat the #1 team in the nation that day.

Honestly, I never thought that TCU would beat Michigan.

The funny thing here is that if Michigan didn’t steal the signs they would’ve dominated TCU. They were so reliant on their stolen signs that by the time they realized that they were wrong, they already were down and TCU had all the momentum. It’s amazing that the final score was as close as it was, and Michigan had a final drive to try and win it

Let me guess.
“Alabama needed a last second play to beat an Auburn team that lost to New Mexico St!!”

Florida State needed last second heroics to beat Boston College who lost to Northern Illinois.

If you honestly think FSU would beat Bama 2 out of 10 times, I’m not sure what to tell you.

If the games are meaningless, why isn't Georgia or Ohio St in the CFP?

I think Bama should be in, but not Texas. But, I also think Georgia should be in. Teams should be Bama, GA, Washington, Michigan.

At least you admit it. The entire LSU fanbase and a few Auburn fans. Whining like little girls. Lovely.

I think the message sent was that the ACC is not a power conference.

And the PAC-12, which is now defunct and never even had a playoff berth, is?

Who loses worse, Michigan having to face any SEC team in the playoffs, or FSU having to play Georgia in the Orange Bowl?

Advice to FSU
1 Play a better schedule
2 Join a stronger conference
3 playing an SEC team or two weeks apart
ain’t gonna get it. Play one every week an
you’ll see what it’s like.

Let me clarify, the committee made it clear that some games matter while others don’t. Basically the committee functions like Bama fans; they chose an outcome they want then justify it with things that support that outcome while ignoring those facts that don’t. Then they ignore their own contradictions. There is no consistency past the narrative.

I can at least excuse Bama fans in this regard. Yes, they’re making complete asses of themselves. But at least they have the excuse of being fans, and this naturally biased. The committee though is supposed to be neutral.

They showed yesterday though they’re not neutral.

Like another poster said on another thread, they dropped a team because they felt like they would be less competitive than another team. Almost as if they put the better team in like it was designed

So just to be perfectly clear, if it was Bama who was 13-0 but got left out because Milroe got hurt even though you beat Auburn with a backup them won the SECCG with the third QB, you would not argue that you should be in? You would graciously accept being left out and openly acknowledge that Bama did not deserve a playoff spot?

That is what you are saying right?

How about don't be part of a phony alliance that delays the implementation of a playoff that would have had you in as an automatic qualifier.

Michigan should have sent Manifesto Man to one of their games.

What if that P5 conference has no other good teams so the undefeated team goes totally unchallenged all season?

They scheduled 2 SEC opponents out of conference.
2 Big 6 schools. LSU and Florida.

They won their OOC P5 games.
At least all of the other playoff teams won all of the OOC games. Right?

If you don't know... OOC games are the only games where the school has "actual control" over the scheduling.
It is the only tangible thing that a school can do to improve their playoff chances.

Saying that LSU and Florida weren't good enough implies that FSU should have scheduled a third OOC P5 game.

Does anyone recall Bama fans complaining about why they even scheduled Texas to begin with if it would only hurt them with the loss?
I do.

I don’t think it’s scheduling that’s the issue.

The issue is that there are four spots for 5 conferences and 70ish P5 teams. It’s a little surprising there wasn’t a similar scenario before this year.

lol yep. If Georgia had beaten Alabama, Texas would have been 4th and effectively blocked FSU.

Something tells me there wouldn’t be this outrage.
