Agreed. People have seemed to forget just how bad the situation was at Tennessee after the Pruitt debacle and the AD having zero stability after the Fulmer experiment. Heupel getting Tennessee back to a perennial top 25 team in years 2 and 3 with portal QBs is a minor miracle in itself
Going into year 4 with his prized hand picked QB and an established culture should be a pretty good gauge of what he can do at Tennessee or if 2022 was just a flash in the pan imo

He’s taking a roster that’s about 6th/7th best in the SEC with Joe freaking Milton and finishing probably as the 6th best team. He’s doing a pretty solid job I’d say.

Listen, I hate UT as much as anyone. But they've been decent under heupel. And that's huge. They were awful...an extended term dumpster fire before.
He may never reach #1 again but give the mam credit for turning them around. If he gets 8-9 wins next year + momentum then I think he could possibly stick around and become a Tommy Tuberville type coach
