Sounds like PJ3 has really made some positive strides in that area as well! He was, after all, the JUCO sack leader.

I know we've been saying this every year since 2008 but I really feel like this is the most talented D since the Tubbs era. Tons of depth. Better quality players with LB, DE, DT and CB.

I'm reserved on most things with this team but not Holland. Kid. Will. Be. Unreal. Again - my opinion, but its based on film study.

Venables DGAF... and he shouldn't.

quote:

I could (not) care less. Doesn’t matter one bit to us,” Venables recently said, according to Aaron Brenner of The Post and Courier. “It’s not coachspeak. We’re going to do what we do and adjust as it goes. That’s up to them, whether or not they have confidence in their guy.”

I picture their time watching film on our QBs as them sitting in a room, eating popcorn, and just giggling.

Steele says familiarity with Clemon doesn't matter

quote:

Steele served as DC at Clemson from 2009-11. While at Clemson, the Tigers won the 2011 ACC Title. Steele's 2010 defense led the ACC and ranked 13th nationally in points allowed at 18.8 PPG

He did a pretty good job on Cam that year, from what I remember. They easily could have won that game, and the defense had a lot to do with that. Defending Deshaun could pose a similar task as to defending Cam.

Steele Curtain?

from another article

quote:

During the 1999 season, Steele's Baylor team was involved in what ESPN.com called one of the top 10 worst coaching decisions. The decision came when he chose a running play rather than a kneel down with Baylor leading and possessing the ball in the game's final 12 seconds and their opponent, the UNLV Rebels, was out of time outs. The ensuing Baylor fumble and UNLV return for a touchdown gave the Rebels a shocking win

Didn't you use to have a suicide girl or J. Nigiri as your avi? If you did, you should change it back. If that wasn't you, you should still change it.

Marcello has VIP article up on Cowart discussing the light coming on for him. Found this passage very interesting
quote:

“I would tell him all the time last year – because he didn’t have all that instantaneous success – that he was beating himself up,” Garner said. “Like, ‘I’m a bust.’ (I said), ‘You’re not a bust. You’re a freshman. That’s what you are. You’re a freshman. You are a freshman that has to embrace the process.’”

we can legitimately have FIVE 5* players on defense with only one of them being a surprise (DBrown)...and that wouldn't even include possibly our best defender in Carlton Davis. We have fantastic talent on D. We just have to turn it into production.

This is the most talent we've had defensively since Tubbs, IMO.
