I will add things to it all day today as I have time. Lets have some good conversation about fall practice and how we can stear this Auburn team to the National Championship

As Auburn opens fall practice the Tigers face a major question mark at the quarterback position. Gus Malzahn is expected to name a starter early, and many expect that starter to be John Franklin III.

we're gonna kick arse. KJ and KAM are ready to tote the rock, and i'm sure someone else is licking their chops at the opportunity. The front 7 is gonna be super tough, as well as the OL. I don't see where the Negas (pussies) get off

I like what I see from Malik Miller also. He was an early ennrolle correct? What does everybody think of him maybe sharing the everydown load with Kam and KJ as the change of pace?

I think that is a very good possibility. He is going to get a chance for sure.

I see Gus doing exactly what he has done in the past. He will try a few different backs in different situations, see who fits and work with it. Thats what he did with Mason in 2013, CAP in 2015 and even last year with Barber. Find who works on gameday and go with them

We may not know who is going to be the guy till game 3

This is definitely right. KJ has shown nothing but brilliance every time I've seen him. I think he IS big enough to be an every down guy, just have to have the confidence to go along with it. If KAM can get back to the HB mentality, he could be a force. I doubt his lateral agility is anything to write home about, but people are going to think twice about lowering their head against him. And he has faster wheels than one would think.

KJ is plenty big. He is 6'0 210. Now, we'll see if he has the durability required, but his size isn't an issue.

I truly think we are better off than people here are melting over. Someone will step up and fill the role. Or a combination of guys.

I am still more concerned about QB and how we approach that position than RB. Also, who will step up at wide out. QB and WR are my biggest concerns right now

If the OL makes the hole we can find someone to run through it

I know a coach at Madison Academy, he use to tell me when KJ was a JR recruit that their SO RB isn't as athletic but may be a better RB.

Just so no one misinterprets this, he was talking 2 years ago about feel for the position not about higher ceiling/athletic ability

ETA: I don't expect Malik Miller to be our workhorse at any point in the future

Now that Jovon is off the team, I wonder if that helps or hurts JFIII. If Robinson's departure means that Gus will lean more on the passing game, I would think Snowboard Cam would get the call.

I think that depends on how well the other backs step up. I still dont see Gus moving to a passing offense. That just will not work. He needs to lean on the running game like we have in the past. Its what he does well.

We have backs. They are on scholarship. Put them to work

I think he is going to go all in on JF3. We are gonna read option folks to death and mix in some 10 yd outs and whirly birds. If our oline gels and our backs stay healthy we could have a decent season.
