1. Pat Dye is the best thing that ever happened to Auburn football in terms of getting the program to where it is now.

2. His run as head coach at AU was the best the school has ever seen and he was absolute magic in the locker room.

3. He represents a time and era we will unfortunately never see again and growing up in the Dye era he will always be a hero to me.

4. If he really called Khiel Frazier a coward then that is very, very disappointing coming from someone I have a lot of respect for.

5. Though he shouldn't say it about anyone I think it's pretty true about one of the people he was talking about. However, Frazier has handled the disappointment of his college career as gracefully as anyone could hope for and deserves an immense amount of respect for sticking with this team and trying to lead and help out in any way he can.

Hopefully the comments were taken out of context and it wasn't as bad as it sounds and if he did say that I hope he is man enough to offer KF a face to face apology as well as making a public one.

ETA: To all you people calling Dye a coward for not saying it to his face, I guarantee you wouldn't be calling him a "coward", "washed up", old moron, telling him to frick off etc... Cowards. While stupid at least he has the balls to put his name on it.

Agree with all of this. As I said in my first post on the matter, I shook my head when I saw what Dye said and don't think he should have said it. As for a public appology from Dye, not going to hold my breath.

Oh man, beatbammer and TiM coming in to white knight for God's Gift to Football

I met Dye several times as a little kid and even went to his last football camp in 1992 when I was in junior high. Dye is sorta my hero and I am obligated to knight for the GOAT.

How do you suggest we go about "putting our name on it" while addressing a story about Pat Dye on a message board??... I'll wait..

What he said is pathetic, little, and more cowardice than those he was referring; and for a long time he has been making an arse of himself and MY university. We all understand what he has done for the football program in the past, but that time has long since been gone. He needs to shut his ugly mouth for good and let the people in charge NOW take care of our school.

Pat went to the athletic complex and apologized to the QB's face to face.

Good for Dye.

Public appology is doubtful though.

Glad he did though. He was out of line and Frazier deserved an appology.

Last time I saw him was in my apt complex in Mobile right near USA where I believe he was boning a pretty sexy, more slutty girl I know.

I think Pat mistakenly apologized to a ficus.

In Pat's defense, the ficus had a Clint-esque stance, and it was 1:30pm...seriously, who isn't drunk at 1:30
