re: This REALLY ticks me off re: Pat Dye

Weagle as bad as it is for anonymous posters to rag on some players. It pales in comparison to a coach whose name is associated with AU by his name on our field and widely accpted he has influence in our program true or not.

It is really not a very good thing for him to be calling them out in public. Especially when you look at the great strides this team has taken this year. Its just bad on so many different levels.

The solid foundation of the program, through an idiot like Bowden, a narcissist like Tuberville, and a well-intended disaster like Chizik, was ALL because of the foundation that Dye built and left to the future.

You may not see it. You may even choose not to recognize it. But its still his legacy and there's not a damned thing you can do about it. (But maybe deny it agin... and agin... and agin... )

I never said it wasn't wrong.

It's just not that big of a fricking deal. The 2012 team was a shite-show I spent $6000+ dollars on (except, as I have repeatedly stated, Mason, Wallace, and Uzomah).

The players on that team have by and large grown up and are fulfilling their potential now. FANTASTIC. Good for us. Even BETTER for them.

But the present fulfillment of that potential doesn't mean the shite show never existed. There has never been an Auburn team I wouldn't defend no matter what in some manner or form. The only defense I can ever come up for the 2012 shite show always comes out "Mason, Wallace, Uzomah".

Dye came from an era where you played with no face mask, didn't live in fancy dorm rooms, didn't get a full training table, didn't have access to top notch national-level facilities, played hurt, and played both ways. I have no doubt he looked at that 2012 team and had an honest VALID judgement of "What a bunch of pussies."

Maybe that's it? Maybe instead of "cowards", you would have preferred "pussies"?

You are kidding, right? He was a FRAUD! Take away GREAT ASSISTANTS (Petrino, Muschamp, Chizik) and he was NOTHING! He got kicked around the Big 12 and bolted for an even EASIER gig at Cincy. If he was a GREAT COACH he should go undefeated every year with Cincy's horrible schedule. He was also involved of scamming people out of money in a "hedge fund."
