Follow up question: How many of you RAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE'ers have shown anything but sportsmanship and 100% support toward Jake Holland?
Neiko Thorpe?
Oh, but I'm sure you'll have some kind of rock-solid 100% rationalization as to why YOU are different.

Kind of ridiculous watch some of the people who frequent this forum just shite all over players left and right then have the balls to say something about Pat Dye.

Well of course, we're anonymous message board posters, not a former coach that represents AU on a semi-national scale.

How are my comments different than Dye's? For starters, they haven't been tweeted thousands of times. They also haven't resulted in al.com articles. Pretty sure radio talk show hosts haven't talked about my feelings on any AU player. Pretty sure they don't give two fricks about my rantings as a fan, evidenced by the fact Kiehl Frazier has never felt the need to tweet about them.

I was going to respond to beatbammer's comments, but I figured since we addressed the differences between anonymous message board posters and pat freaking dye, I would just skip explaining it again

The only reason Dye still "represents AU on a semi-national scale" is because the same media who is playing you shrinking violets like a damn concert violin makes it so.
But I understand your point above clearly... its OK for YOU to do it, but not Dye.
That's what I thought.
Double standard clearly noted.

Yeah, it's not a double standard, the situations aren't remotely similar.

Oh is that why Dye isn't allowed to point out that last years team was 97% quitters?
God forbid people speak the truth about that shite show of a 2012 team. I'm sure the revelation caught the players totally by surprise too.

Oh man, beatbammer and TiM coming in to white knight for God's Gift to Football
Definitely didn't see that coming

Sandman you have created a very entertaining thread

who here last year did not think or point out a single time last year that the team or a single individual player were quitters?
I thought the whole team quit. But I did not call them cowards.

Now who here that can claim the above is now all up on their soap box about Pat Dye?
Me

Now who here of that group is over 35 years old? Over 30?
Will be 35 next month.
I know you did not ask but my name is not on the field at JHS.

Def me...i got kicked off of AE by Scott Reeves for Neiko's crap play.

Yes, I am not Pat Dye. I am not held to the same rules and standards that he is. I am a member of the thousand person strong alumni base of Auburn University, not the sole former coach whose name is on the field at JHS.

He didn't call the team quitters. He singled out two players. If he had called out the team, the vast majority would have agreed. But as has already been said, and agreed to by yourself, it went well beyond those two.

Wait? Message board posters and former coaches should be held to the same standards?

I have it on good authority that Dye went and apologized to said QB's so you hypocrites can go back to dogging players now.

So dye admitted he was wrong? Cool

If us bitching about players on a message board is the same as Pat Dye, ask which criticism embarassed Kiehl and Clint more. Hell, ask Kiehl and Clint if they even give a shite about random fans venting. I'd imagine they'd probably tell you it's not remotely the same.
