I respect Coach Dye for what he did for Auburn football. He finally got the Iron a Bowl moved. He finally put us on equal footing with Bama. He brought us to respectability. I will always appreciate him for that.

With that said, the old mother fricker should sit his arse on his farm and stfu. Seriously? I tell Bama fans all the time when Dye says stupid shite like this, y'all are lucky your old drunk coach is dead so you don't have to deal with this kinda shite.

He may be many thing but Coward is not one of them. Whatever he said last night, he said again this morning on JOX but it looks like JOX will not put it on podcast.

I figured someone would call me out for calling dye a coward. He may not have used to have been a coward, but saying something like that about a kid who plays football for the school you represent is cowardly, sorry

Again, I really really respect dye for what he did for auburn. Hell, I even like dye sometimes, but what he said was cowardly. Or in the least, why did he even say it? Just plain stupid?

You think he would called keihl a coward to his face?

And what is the point? Why rehash the worst season in AU history during one of the greatest turnarounds in cfb history? Why single out the QBs? Our D sucked arse last year but they are playing much better this season.

Move forward. You have to know that anything you say gets spread around.

Dye isn't an anonymous message board poster. His comments will, and did, get back to the people he was talking about. One of which is still playing for the team Talk about just lacking any common sense

Exactly, it's not "anonymous field" at jordan hare stadium.

Yeah, Jerraud Powers tweeted that Dye was the coward for calling out a kid like that.

You let me know when he personally calls Clint and Kiehl to apologize.

Until then, the man is a coward and a fool.

Wow. What an incredibly stupid thing to say for someone in his position.

Frazier is right.

And Dye saying that doesn't bother me one bit. Dye has always been a tough mean bastard that says exactly what he thinks. He earned that right a long time ago. When he arrived at AU, in the first team meeting, he kicked Lionel James (who was sitting on the floor) told him to stand up and told James to his face he was what was wrong with the Auburn program, he was too small to win with. He told UGA they were not man enough to beat bama as well.

He is right some and wrong some. He doesn't give a damn about being politically correct or mincing words.

I will admit I shook my head a bit when I saw the quote by Dye, but I grew up in the Dye era and he ain't changing and will always say exactly what he thinks and that is fine by me.

I do not agree with CPD nor am i calling you out but it's not cowardly. He did not backpedal. A coward would back pedal from what he said. What it is though is classless.

It is one thing to get at your own players. It is another to get onto someone elses.

As I said in an above post. A coward wou;d have backpedaled on radio that is streamed all over the internet. The correct term is classless.

I don't agree. He has always said stuff like that and would call his own players soft or cowards to piss them off when he wanted to. It is just now a days, people wah wah when they here it. My HS BB coach dog cussed me in the locker room at half time one game and called me a coward and said I was scared of the other team. He screamed at me from the court to the locker room where the entire gym could hear it calling me names after I missed the shot to win a game one night against a rival as well. He is my favorite coach ever by a lot.

Agree he should not have said it in this day and age, but he is an old man and isn't changing and it doesn't bother me.

In a heartbeat if he wanted to. Keihl could kick his arse without trying, but Dye has taken many arse whuppings in his life and another probably would not make him think twice.

I agree and do not think Dye should have said it. Thing is, he probably still thinks the current players ARE his players. He is getting old and still says stuff he shouldn't but he isn't going to stop. He took heat when he was a HC for stuff like this as well from us (the Aubie fanbase). Didn't phase him then and won't now I suspect.

Did you hear his segment this morning? I was listening when he was supposed to be on, but they said they had to reschedule, so I didn't get to hear it. Just wondering if you heard him, and if so, if the quote that was tweeted was verbatim, or somehow taken out of context or twisted to sound worse than what he actually said.

If they cancelled a radio spot, I wonder if some at Au already got onto him and asked him/told him to tone it down and focus on the 2013 team.

I heard it and Dye said "he was a big drunken coward for saying it and he doesn't give a shite what elitor or miami83 thinks about me being a coward".

I was really surprised to learn Dye reads the Auburn Sports Board...

This reminds me of the Jetgate situation. AU fans as a whole were pissed as frick at Tuberville, and at least half wanted him gone. However, the way the administration handled it backfired, and all the ire was redirected at them and Tubs became the sympathetic figure on how he was treated.

Everyone was pissed about last year, and don't want to see Kiehl anywhere near the field. However, now Kiehl is becoming the sympathetic figure and Dye is gonna become the pariah.
