Pearl had an isolated incident with a barbecue for recruits. Freeze’s indiscretions at Ole Miss and some of his strange social media behavior at Liberty reveal a pattern of questionable judgement and decision making. I think Freeze happens to be a good coach, but not great perhaps. BP is a great, HOF level coach.

The cons outweigh the pros with Freeze IMO. You’re gambling a lot with the character and reputation of the program for someone who hasn’t really won anything of significance and left the last SEC program he was at in shambles.

Ok thanks for the update. We needed one more thread about a new coach.

Gun to my head I think I’d take Freeze.

Which should tell you a lot about Freeze.

I'm a huge Bruce Pearl fan but, he does have a past before TN. Then there was the Chuck Person shite. Safe to say, as Auburn fans we don't see him like a whole lot of other people do. I also believe that Saban cheated like Hell for the first few years he was in Tuscaloosa. Almost overwhelming evidence there with the cars, jobs and houses for parents of player, T-Town Menswear etc. Good luck finding a Bama fan to admit that any of that shite was going on.

Auburn has too many fans that act only on emotion and feelings rather than facts and logic.

The same “holier than thou” crowd was against Bruce Pearl being given a second chance would stand in line right now to kiss his ace.

The same would happen if we hired hired Hugh Freeze. The creed mongers would claim they were going to burn all their Auburn gear but soon as he wins 10 games and beats Ga or Bammer they would be lining up to slobber all over him.

Or how about just not hire an average coach who creeps out little girls?

Honestly, do you really think the schools that have hired him over the years, Willing to pay him millions of dollars, didn't do extensive background checks and flesh out internet rumors? I assume you are talking about that Briarwood rumor. How long ago was it that was supposed to have happened? 15-20 years ago? Ever heard of a sicko with that kind of problem, just having a single incident? Don't you think there would have been something else since then?

We loved Pearl from the start. The guy got a roaring ovation on the tarmac. Very, very few was against the Bruce hire.

DMing that young lady that had an ongoing lawsuit against the school.

No matter what was said, that's a stunning lack of propriety on his part.

The basketball program was at rock bottom and could afford to look past Pearl’s infractions. Auburn football still can get much worse quickly. There is no margin for error in this hire.

Is my spirit animal. People, don’t know Bruce was black balled from coaching at Iowa for a decade. It’s time we sack up and do what’s best for AU football despite public opinion.

The lawsuit was settled at that point. She was blasting the Liberty AD on social media, not because he had anything to do with her shite, but because he used to work at Baylor. Freeze's DM wasn't the smartest thing to do, but I understand where he was coming from. Simply defending a friend. Y'all act like Freeze was hitting on her, or threatening her.

Low-T must be at epidemic proportions the way people are making that into some kind of crime against humanity.

It is. And hiring someone that gets his arse kicked by UCONN and New Mexico isn’t what’s best for AU football.

I think it should be noted that we are regionally outside of Pearl’s unforgivable black eye. He snitched in the 80s in the Midwest. Some people there still don’t like Bruce for that. I don’t like snitches and understand where those midwestern people are coming from. But I was not in that era. Bruce’s problem then is ancient to me. If those people see Bruce the same way I see Freeze so be it. But he snitched. He lied to the NCAA. Whatever. I never saw Bruce as a scumbag. Even today I think he pushes the envelope teetering around the legality of the sport without breaking the rules, but I don’t think he is a bad person for it. CBB is just that beast so we armed him with Rich.

Meanwhile, Freeze was a cheat. He didn’t just skirt the lines of the grey area, he recklessly danced around them. I couldn’t care less if he cheated here and there and never got caught or collected a wrist slap. He wouldve merely been trying. He not only cheated, he cheated on his family. He got his program hammered thanks to his own recklessness. Lastly, he tried to cover it all up with his holier than thou fake Christianity persona. So, really Freeze fricked up in a lot of areas but the act is what I have no time for. When he compared his persecution to Jesus on the cross, that guy crossed way too many lines. Dude was a Jim Jones character then more comparable to a Roy Moore weirdo.
