Gus has been calling a lot of bubble screens and other short high percentages throws

"Catchable" is a subjective measurement of a dropped pass.

He's definitely dropped more than 2.
lol nice contradiction, friend

you're also wrong but no one loves making bullshite up about auburn more than auburn fans

see, the guy who wrote the article even mentions it

I've recently discovered that among many Auburn fans - at least those that patronise the Auburn message boards - I may be in the minority, there. I've seen comments on Stevens' dropping key passes. I'm not going to deny that he had some very key drops in the LSU game, but I don't believe he's earned the vitriol and the questions about why he's playing that some seem to heap upon him.
war room eagle's youtube has all the offensive snaps vs clemson, asu, & texas a&m. i'll be waiting for you to link all these drops by stevens.

In the mind of Auburn fans, anything that comes close to touching the fingertips of the WR is a drop. Doesn't matter if Stevens is jumping over a DB, contorting his body and adjusting for unexpected ball placement

So 24 of 27 passes to Tony Stevens were deemed catchable. Tony caught 17 of them and dropped 2. What are the other 5? Defended by the defense, I assume.

What is the math on that catchable ball percentage for white? Seems solid, but I don't analyze those numbers much.

He didn't seem to explain it but Catchable% appears to be 1-DropRate=Catchable%

Drop Rate = Drops / (Receptions + Drops)
Catchable% = 1- DropRate = Receptions/(Receptions+Drops) = 17/19 =89.5%

Nahh, I don't have the numbers but if someone did I'm sure they'd back me up, but screen passes are definetly down this year and that's another frustrating thing about the offense. Gus used to use screens as an extension of the running game. They weren't meant to explode for big plays, they were meant to eat up yards and spread the defense out, but they're not there this year along with the jet sweep and that's why the up the middle runs are being stuffed so often.

you're correct

i'm sure this will be deemed catchable by tts. no mention that stevens is 6'4, he jumps, stretching with only one hand, and it hits his fingertips.

Fun fact on TSteve, if he averages 85 yards/game from here he will be first 1000 yard receiver since RDaniels in 99

If he continues to get 7-10+ targets per game, that isn't unbelievable to think about

That's 30 more yards per game than what he's averaging right now

I took a quick look at the A&M film and SW had 8/27 attempts for designed screens

That is a pretty hefty amount, especially when you adjust for the 3rd & long pass attempts

14 Targets to a mediocre WR is too damn many. Split those 14 between NCM and KD and we'll start scoring Tds

I agree that sometimes we are referring to incompletions as drops just because it was in the same zip code and the WR somehow managed to touch the ball. One of Stevens "drops" would've been a great catch if he actually caught it. Also, Hastings dropped one but SW put way too much velocity on the short pass. Yeah Hastings could've caught it but it's easy to see why he didn't.

He's averaging 58 in his last 1.

He's broken 80 one time in his career and you want to speculate that he could get 85 yards per game for the rest of the year...

I was pointing out that it isn't completely ridiculous to think the WR whose been the most targeted the past 3 games whose averaging ~75yd/game could reach that milestone
