Why doesn't Malzahn put both guys on the field at the same time? Line Pett up at FB and Johnson up at HB. Gives soooo many options for our offense.

If there are two backs in the backfield, there is not enough room left for a whirlybird.

No its not going to happen.

I think we are so thin he can't have both of these guys gassed at the same time. I'm guessing it's a numbers thing.

They could certainly have a few packages a game. Wouldn't need to do it every play.

Me in 1978:
Dear Coach Barfield, Why don't you put William Andrews, Joe Cribbs, and James Brooks in the backfield at the same time?

He's no Al Borges. Remember when everyone was crying for Caddy and Ronnie to be utilized at the same time? Borges came in and found a way to do it. Results: 13-0

Because if you had both on the field at the same especially in the red zone then you wouldn't have four WR out wide that won't block and won't be thrown the football.

Plus...the opponent's defense would need to then guess who's who's going to get the ball.

Right now, everybody knows with our offense:
If 1st down, then handoff up the middle to whichever RB on field.
2nd down, whirlybird.
3rd down, pass to Tony Stevens hoping he doesn't drop it.
4th down, kick 59 yard field goal.

We have enough depth.

Malik Miller is serviceable. And Cam Martin? Where the hell is that dude? Wasn't he supposed to be Ontario Macalleb #2? You know... Jet sweep speed to the edge and all?

I said the same thing in another thread. Dude looked pretty good in the ASU game. He's the homerun threat at running back. I'd compare him more to Corey Grant than McCalleb though, body wise.

Do you think when Gus' staff shows him the 497 posts about his predictable offense every week he just laughs and wipes his arse with it?

yes... the only drops he's had all season

you realize that people actually track these things and don't rely on emotional responses that overwhelm you, right?

"Catchable" is a subjective measurement of a dropped pass. He's definitely dropped more than 2...
