I like Gus and hope we win a lot of games in his year. I like DC too but let's be honest it takes more than dressing like a pimp pre game to win games. I feel like DC convinced Gus to give Duke multiple chances when he should've been dismissed a lot sooner.

Yes. DC was to blame for the Duke cancer. Should have told him Bye! last winter.

JGT said Malzahn is becoming the dictator of the offense again. It is how he always operated until last year. Last year he tried to let Laslee have a much bigger role. DQ would have had even less input this coming season.

Hopefully this means he will take over play calling again.

I don't be live any of this shite. We don't have any insiders and PM is a lap dog for AD's office.

There was a lot more in the article, but this to me gets to the heart of it. You can dislike Gus right now, but he is doing what he feels he should and his way. I can respect that and he has every right to do this.

Dude, this flies right in the face of the "Jacobs is hiring the assistant coaches with the approval of the Good Ol' Boys" Melt Theory.

What in the hell do you think you are doing?

I've had multiple negative interactions with him in both professional and not situations and he has always come across as a pompous a-hole and that I should be grateful to be in the same room as him.

i like that Gus is boldly taking control. If it works then we have a great hire. If it fails then it's all on him and we find a new coach after next season.

Exactly. Put all the pressure on Gus. If he wants "his guys" around him, then fine, win with those guys. It's all on him at that point if we bomb.

that title game loss was like the big crash for Ricky Bobby. Gus just hasnt been the same since then. regardless of all this other bs Gus needs to find a way to get his balls back. I hope thats whats happening here.

After a couple of days of melting, I'm rolling with this perspective. Still a little mad though, mainly because it seems LSU did whatever they wanted and we got left with shite. But time will tell if Gus made some good decisions or not.

There is admin problems every where, but with him letting DC leave, it would appear Gus has full and complete control of HIS football program.

Auburn needs an AD change before even thinking about firing another head coach.

This is one of the best representations of our program recently that I have seen. It's a very interesting way to look at the struggles Gus has had, and hopefully he can recover for himself in similar form.

This is the Gus we need.
