I said in another post he is talented, but better suited for another offense. I agree White should have started the season, but I am not in agreement that he will be the answer moving forward in Gus Malzahn's offense. Btw, he would have remained the starter had he not been injured. He wasn't ready to come back in the UGA either.

You think he will lead us to or give us a better chance at winning more games next year, and I say no he isn't. Oh and it's not because of how bad JJ played, I based that by what i saw.

Yes. All of this. Yes

Cam/Marshall bus and no I didn't.

I really do like White and think he is talented. I also think he is very accurate and busting Chex mix balls since he said Fact I threw in the comp % of both....

But at the end of the day and regardless of Tulsa results, I think our offense is lethal with a running and passing QB who can run that option well. I hope White blows the doors off our competition and proves me wrong. I don't want him to fail. It is just my opinion is all.

Considering that Sean was a FRESHMAN this year, yeah, i think he can win more than 6 games next year with him as the starting Qb.

Is Sean ideal for Gus's offense, no. But who is going to be the starter? Some JUCO kid that wasnt even the starter on his team? A true freshman? Or Sean that has one year under his belt and three off seasons worth of coaching and playing in the system? Yeah, i'll take my chances with Sean until proven otherwise

eta: please take that ugay sig off

I can think of two times where this worked out better than using the experienced players on the depth chart.

Redshirt Freshman.

Also, Jeremy Johnson looked good in small doses as a true freshman. Hard to say that two ish games being allowed to be QB gives enough sample size to declare him better than JF3

Easy to say that Sean has more SEC experience than any other incoming Qb. And why do we think that a 185 lb WR playing Qb is going to save our offense? Looking at JF3 film, he is a one read running Qb.

Gus plans to convert him to WR and start him his senior year since he is a good team player

His completion percentage was 3 percentage points worse than JJ's. Fact

I do not dispute that at all. We dropped a ton of balls with both JJ and White taking snaps. Just going by the eye test though, I would say White was much more accurate hitting our stone hand guys in those stone hands.

More concerning to me would be his durability. He is not big enough, imo, to be a running threat --- at least not if we want to keep playing him for a full season.

Last night, we had some success running against Alabama, a team I have not seen anyone run on with much success. Our passing/catching was poor, but more importantly to me was the way JJ froze up under pressure several times when he should have made a run or gotten rid of the ball.

Again, I think when you combine qb woes with the stuff that happened with Duke and the injury to Lawson, I am surprised we stayed as close as we did in so many games.

I could care less if White starts at qb. I just want whoever puts the team in the best position to win. I just think if we try to run him, we break him again.

Agreed. I don't think White will stay healthy in this league.

I think this offense is a lot better with a DT guy. I've said this numerous times, so that's nothing new. I think Franklin will get a legit shot at playing QB next year. I wouldn't be shocked if they throw Jason Smith in there as well.

As much as I liked White and his enthusiasm on the field, I have to agree with Rocky that we need a different kind of QB with Gus and his play style. Auburn right now isn't a school where a Sean White can take us all the way.

I wholeheartedly believe in Sean White moving forward. The completion % argument is totally skewed, considering the fact some of our WRs had a record amount of drops in those games. I think some of you are totally underestimating SW, not only on the field but in everything necessary to compete and win.

The only way it's a troll thread is if Tate and Matthews were trolling. I read the same thing the OP posted.
