I would he rather say, "I'm not discussing injuries".

LOL. I can only imagine how that would go over.

Face it, he could give some people the xrays and they could complain. This is getting almost as bad as the Trump hate.

Gus is doing a fine job. Let him do his job and stop questioning every little move he makes

Meh. A boot could mean nothing or it could mean he's out for the season. They put key players in boots if they even look at a pair of water skis too long

Edit: Fwiw, BMarcello's sources thinks he's good to go this week.

Thanks to where recruiting has evolved, most college coaches are pretty much like used car salesmen. This is just the same thing different reason. It would be nice if there was a little honesty in the game. White lies are still lies. One thing I liked about Spurrier, it seemed like he pretty much told the truth, like it or not..

Whether Pettway is a 100% or not, I'd really like to see hard numbers/graphs comparing different teams' injuries each year. I get that sometimes you're just unlucky in a season on getting key players hurt, but if you have a few seasons of the same caliber of player getting sidelined, you gotta start looking at it as a systemic problem.

That may or may not be the case at Auburn, I'd just like to know if we're doing everything to prevent this stuff. I mean, we haven't even played a real game yet and both of our main RBs are potential question marks. That's some rotten luck, if nothing else.

I mean, it definitely is a systemic problem in that we run a smash mouth offense and running backs are one of the most injury prone positions

Something to think about: 2013, 2014, 2016 were Years AU "bell cow" power RB was top 10 Nationally in attempts / game. The absent 2015 year Peyton Barber was avg ~24.5 att/game through 8 games which would be #4 nationally

Overall though, most of our issues is our star players get injured. Overall, we don't seem to have a ton of injuries other than guys banged up which happens to every team

Good question.

I do take issue with Pettway pulling a hamstring in last year's Vandy game and then Kerryon Johnson pulling a hamstring last week.

Those non-contact injuries are on the coaching and conditioning staff.

No reason anyone under the age of 30 should be pulling a hammy if coaches are making them stretch and making them stay on stationary bicycles on the sidelines to stay warm.

Get the frick over it. It's more frustrating hearing people bitch about it throughout the week.

You knowing whether a player is hurt or not before the game effects the game 0%. So why the frick should we care?

Pettway could be high in the game and still be substantially better than KJ and Kam.
