Gus has spoken about JJ having a bigger role in Auburn's offense moving forward. Do we start to see this against K-State?

I would love to see a package with NM and JJ in the backfield!

Thoughts?

He also said he will go with what is working and that will win out every time.

Good point.

I think seeing JJ more often during games - forces the other teams to prepare for it.

I suspect we will see more of JJ this year than we did last though.

He's said that since game 1 last year.

It hasn't happened. It won't happen. And it shouldn't happen until next year

Nick needed the live reps in game 2 bc he was limited against arkansas.... otherwise, we probably see Johnson take a series in the 2nd quarter.

I believe I saw JJ actually keep a zone read and run it a few times Saturday. That is expanded so far this year over what we have seen him do (pass only)

I agree with this.

The one I specifically remember was him getting no gain to the outside. He basically got forced out of bounds. His TD run was nice though. I thought he showed pretty good acceleration after he saw it was open.

I really don't think we see much of him unless the game is out of reach or Marshall is hurt. With the way Marshall runs the offense, there's not point putting JJ in and throwing off the rhythm.

I want JJ as our starter. I have always made my dislike for NM as a QB known. With that said, I think you have to go with Nick until he proves he can't play the position. Having 2 QBs kills the flow

If JJ plays 2-3 series a game I will be happy. Teams will have to split time in game prep between the zone read and difficult passing attack

This.

I honestly believe JJ is the better QB and would garner better results for the year if started. But if we're committed to Nick starting, just let him start. No need to start mixing things up now.

This is just my opinion but I would like for the Johnson package to be JJ permanantly running the first half 2 minute offense. He moves the ball in the air better than Nick which is how the ball is usually moved in that situation. It would give him real game pressure experience before he's the starter in 2015. It would also encourage him to have a faster, rythmic pace to the O which is where he's behind Nick the most right now.

Coaches also said Travon Reed was good and Nick Marshall was improved... Typcal coach speak we'll see JJ at the end of games in blowouts.

I don't know either of those players, but Trovon Reed is #25 on Auburn...
