Either way, I'd feel uneasy about the immediate future.

How exactly has T Rob come from the "Saban line?"

Boom has worked under other coaches not named Saban. T Rob has learned under other coaches not named Boom. That's quite a connection..

I would prefer to get an established DC if Muschamp leaves. Auburn is not a place for on the job training. We have a HC that is learning on the job. He has had one really good year and a few mediocre years. He is still trying to learn the job. I don't want my DC doing the same.

Dude you're taking this way too seriously. It was a fricking bad joke ok. We're gonna suck next year if we have to get another DC. It'll be what our 6th DC in 8 years?

It's okay bro. This Muschamp situation is making my pussy hurt too.

Well list an established DC who would come here right now then.

There's not many options out there.

Have to trust malzahn can make the right hire... and if he doesn't, then he's not cut out for this job and we'll be moving on.

I like Gus (probably more than most on here), but if he can't hire a competent assistant, he should be gone

What do you mean there is not many options out there? We pay our asst.'s more than pretty much anybody in the nation.

i meant exactly what I said.

Who's out there that's established that will leave there current job?

Odom would've probably been option 1. He's heading to Memphis.
Rhoades I guess could be an option.

Are you forgetting he was our DC in 2008?

Pruitt more than likely will be looking for a job. He is not my favorite person, but he can recruit and coach. Hopefully we get him to listen. If our guys get HC jobs, and we pay well, we should have no issues attracting the best talent in coaching.

Defense wasn't the issue that year. In fact, it's the only reason we won 5 games.

Defense was actually very good that year. The problem was they were on the field the whole damn season, and eventually wore out.

No. I'm not exactly sold on him but he's a pretty good DC.

You're forgetting how the defense actually played that year.

Does respect play a big role in these moves? For instance, would Pruitt be willing to come here and work under Malzahn? I can understand being willing to work under Jimbo and Richt, but when you look up and see a clown as your boss (who can't even field a competent offense) it might make them think twice

Pruitt would be my number 1 if Muschamp left and he left UGA.

He's an a-hole but a damn good DC and would be great for recruiting.

One thing I have learned about Auburn sports. If you want to know what really is happening with Auburn personnel follow Bama guys. They always seem to know what is up before our own.

No kidding. It is like getting information as an Anerican from the BBC faster than any other news outlet here. And that happens all the time.

Only reason I think this rumor has truth to it is because SOS is supposedly going to be helping with the search. SOS tried to hire Muschamp as DC (when Malzahn did) and is apparently a big fan of his. If SOS is endorsing him, then that could sway whoever is on the USCe search committee.

Normally I wouldn't be convinced, but considering Champ and SOS's ties, I wouldn't be surprised if this happens.
