I don't think so. USCe is a dumpster fire right now. They have high expectations from where Spurrier had them but none of the talent that got them there. Add in Clemson who is operating at high levels

If Muschamp can really turn this defense around next year which seems likely, he would be up for a considerably better job than USCe

I've got to assume he is not taking his Auburn connection lightly. I think I read where his wife's whole family are auburn grads, like 17 of them and "coming home" was a big part of his decision to come back. If he leaves after one year and screws our recruiting class, then I'll join the gators in calling him a dick. If he stays one more year, then I'll wish him the best.

I mean if he's offered an SEC HC job I can't be mad at him for taking it but I will be really bummed for Auburn.

After one year yes. If it was an understanding with Gus that it's only one year then bolt, then Gus is the dick. We need stability in coaching not a constant turnover.

We took him because he was the best DC on the market, and we also took him knowing he could be gone after one year. Yeah it will suck if he leaves but he's definitely leaving us better than when he got here. With all that said, I don't buy the talk of him being USCe's top guy at all. I could see him as a back up plan if they miss on several guys but that's it.

I know we think coaches owe us loyalty...but they don't. They're all hired and fired just like everyone else, why shouldn't he take a promotion?

I agree, but I'm worried that USCe is getting down to their 3rd and 4th option for head coach after Herman stayed at Houston.

We all knew this was the risk getting him, can't blame him for taking another SEC head coaching job.

How much was Spurrier making at SC and how much does Will make at AU including his UF payments?

I understand the whole head coach position, but if he fails at SC, then he'll have trouble getting another shot at a big name school. Sure, the UCFs of the world will always take a chance on someone like him, but if I'm Muschamp, I'm thinking stay where I'm at and make sure the right job opens.

Just because SC is "seriously" considering him, doesn't mean the feeling is mutual. He also has to think that recruiting at SC is going to be MUCH tougher than UF. At Florida, he had that brand. While the OBC did wonders, it took him a while and SC, as far as a brand is concerned, isn't sniffing UF.

If they offer, he is gone. That's why I mentioned TRob. We wouldn't have to start over, but it would be a risk.

If we hired T Rob, people will be bitching because Jacobs hired another "Auburn man."

I have always been a fan of how Oregon seems to have the next guy in line and ready.

Exactly. I think we were all in(especially Gus) in thinking once we hired Gus we would be playoff contenders this year. Little did we know that JJ was an abomination and Gus couldn't adapt his offense.

Can't blame him for taking a HC job now if he left for a DC job I'd be ticked
