$7,500 from Person and $5,000 from Michel.

It's on the last page, section 57 includes the $5,000 from Michel. Here's a link. I'll update the post to reflect that though.

Correct.

Maybe Chuck was smart enough to try to scam these guys and he had them meeting with Devin Waddell and Horace Spencer.

:fingerscrossed:

Talked to a family member who is a recently retired FBI agent

quote:

First, if they were trying for bigger fish it wouldn't have gone down like this. Case would have waited for the bigger arrests

Not saying someone might roll. That could always happen.
When they announce and plan multiple arrests. That is the target

So there goes the "it will explode even further" / target is Addidas / major apparel brands

I think they had bigger targets and couldn't get there. A 3 year sting operation to nail a few assistant coaches on some trumped up federal charges seems pretty weak.

My guess is they are really hoping the Adidas guy who also used to work at Nike will talk.

They probably failed which is why this went down

Yeah... part of this feels like they couldn't get the big fish on charges, so they arrested a bunch of relatively low hanging fruit (the exception being the addidas executive).

Or they are now wanting these guys to become witnesses, but that doesn't seem like their style... seeing as how their had surveillance on these guys for months.

People thinking this will "shake the foundation of college athletics" may end up disappointed.

According to family member they don't multiple arrest witnesses in coordination like this

They do this when it is all finished

Correct, but if one of the arrested gets to the point where jail time is looking them in the face, new info could come out.

However, I agree. I think the FBI was hoping for much more and couldn't get there. The press conference where they are issuing a public warning and giving out a number for tips, makes me think they have suspicions of a lot more, but no evidence.

Something doesn't fit with Wiley being involved in this.

There has been no major pay for play scandal in basketball in years. The chances of being caught historically are extremely low + NBA/Pro sports DGAF about being caught up in this

Even now, it doesn't truly impact Wiley's career. Worst case he goes the Terrence Ferguson route of playing overseas for a year, getting paid then trying to go to the NBA

am I the only one who couldn't care less about this? I mean, sure, I was excited about possibly having a decent bball team, but as long as I've got AU football, I don't care

Here. But I hate it for our basketball fans. Bruce gave them just enough hope, then crashed and burned.

I'm being to think Player 1 and Player 2 are Heron and Purifoy, but Player 2 could be Wiley.

My hope is that they are Devin Waddell and someone from the White Caboose, but that seems unlikely.

I pretty much feel the same way. Having a good basketball would've been the icing on the cake but without it, it's still cake.

agreed. I thought there was no way Bruce would let some shite go down given what he came from.

Maybe he'll get out of this unscathed more or less?

Even if he comes out unscathed, I still think we're screwed.

Feeling better about this from the players perspective today. There is a chance their Auburn careers are NOT over. The parents will give money to charity, Auburn will petition the NCAA, and there is a 50/50 shot they will miss games, but not the whole season. You will just see them suit up for the first game.
