I'll reserve judgement until they get all the facts together. I won't be mad if Gus kicks him to the curb either. We certainly don't need more bad press with this coming up before he shows up on campus though.

I thought you had to have an Oz to be a felony. 20 grams is less than an Oz.

Bond was only $5,506. That is very low to have two felony charges against you. One being possession with intent. Something doesn't smell right about that.

Whew! Grams not ounces, shite! Ounces would be a big problem.
For perspective, here's some things that weigh 20 grams: a pencil weighs 20 grams. 4 nickels, eight pennies, 20 paper clips. Kid had a baggie with some pot in it -- or someone he was with did. These charges are probably perfunctory, and probable will and should be reduced.
BTW, I support the decriminalization of the weed.

It's more than 20 grams. 20 grams is a little over a half ounce. They aren't slapping "intent" charges for that amount.

Florida has a bill that is likely to pass soon to make medical pot legal.
I'm sick of people getting arrested for pot honestly. shite is gonna be legalized nationwide except for maybe a few backwards states in the coming years.

Sucks too since most of the other CB recruits we could have gotten as a replacement have probably all signed by now with lower schools.

Nope it's just 20 G's for a felony. I'm a criminal justice major in Florida plus I work at a Sheriff's office, I get to see a lot of my buddies at work

Me too.
I also think that as long as it is NOT decriminalized and you know cops are paying special attention to you (I'm talking to you, teenage and young adult males, especially if you are black), fricking around with weed takes a special kind of dumb.

If he does plead down along with being a first offender then I could see him getting a year of probation with a lot of fines. Of course he'd have to go through the process of switching probation from Florida to Georgia then Alabama IF he comes in May.
