Not really. Gus tries. Les was so out of touch in the coaching world. And you think Gus is stubborn?

Maybe. Les has had some pretty awful days as well. I don't really see the difference in a Miles program and a Malzahn program besides Miles being funny in press conferences. Both have built stout defenses, recruited consistently but have also struggled to adapt on offense. Both wanna just run it down your throat no matter what and can't seem to consistently find answers at the QB spot. Honestly don't see why anyone unhappy with Malzahn would want Miles right now.

Either way, it is clear Les' best days are behind him.

Pat Dye was a better coach than Gus. I still wouldn't bring Pat Dye's drunk arse in

Have to disagree here. Miles is a head coach. Malzahn is a failed offensive coordinator.

My years may be mixed up here but Miles won the natty in 2007. In 05 or 06 he was knocking on the doorsteps of at least playing in it. I think they had 1 or 2 losses and won the sugar bowl. He went on another tear around 09 or 10' only losing like 2 games each of those years mainly because Florida and Bama were both beasts at the time.

He has made some mistakes like qb choice and stale offense but even their offenses were never as bad as ours.

Either Chip Kelly or Bobby Petrino is what Auburn needs.

Miles since 2013: 29-13 (15-11)
Malzahn since 2013: 36-19 (18-14)

No doubt Miles has a much better coaching career than Malzahn but he's not done much better than Gus in recent years. Hell Gus has won an SEC championship more recently than him. You could even argue Miles has had MORE talent at LSU than AU as well based off recruiting. I just don't understand how anyone frustrated with Malzahn right now would then think Les Miles is a much better option

Not to mention routinely getting more talent than us in recruiting. From 2010-2013 they were very good. Had way more consistency that Gus. Would not mind Les and I don't think he would make the same mistake twice in trying to find the right people to run an offense.

Yeah, 20 years ago. Back when Terry Bowden was considered an up-and-comer.

Dude is 60, got fired for hitting a player almost a decade ago, and hasn't been an HC since. But yeah, he'll do great at AU.

Ditto the Petrino lovefest some of y'all have. What the frick has he done since he laid down his bike, other than go 36-13 in the Sunbelt and the ACC? Gustav is 36-19, in the SEC no less, and we're trying to run his arse off. Why do you persist in this unsubstantiated belief that Petrino would be an improvement?

I think the only reason Miles name comes up when there are openings now is that he has to pretend he's looking for a job to keep the money flowing from his LSU deal. I seriously doubt he will ever coach again - he'll be 64 this November. So forget him too.

Our best bet is to get rid of Jacobs, hire a competent AD, and let him evaluate the situation and make appropriate changes. Otherwise we'll be in the same position we've been in for the past 25 years.

So? We don't need a guy who is good at building a program from scratch, we are an established program. The guy was winning on avg 8 games/year in years 10+, never taking the next step.

For comparison, Bill Snyder took a team SI called Futility U and by year 7 had them regularly winning 10+ games in the Big12 + most 10+ win sesaons from like 94-03 or something

5 to 10 years ago Leavitt would've been an awesome hire.... but I'm pretty sure he's in his 60s now. I want someone younger... more up and coming.

Leavitt did an incredible job at Colorado as DC... taggert hit a home run stealing him from boulder.
