That's always been a strange stance to take to me.

If I have a team, I want the kid to be willing to go out there and play his heart out in any condition. Those are the types of guys you want. You also want coaches to be able to tell when a guy is too hurt to play though to prevent that from limiting the team.

To put the blame on White because he "lied to the coaches", you would have to believe that the coaches didn't see him throw all week. And even if you believe that, why didn't they see how he was playing and pull him before they did?

In reality what really happened was the coaches knew he was hurt and knew he was severely limited. They still thought he was the best option despite him being severely limited (which I'm not totally convinced he wasn't).

It baffles me that people turn a kid gutting one out for his team into a bad thing.

I understand some level of annoyance with White, but if the coaches couldn't tell he was too limited, that's on them for being stupid. Really stupid.

You have no idea who liked to who, or what was actually going on. Who makes 4 million a year to make decisions and who has to juggle a full time job with football? To put any blame on White is stupid.

Assuming he did lie, what kind of fricking clown couldn't tell after a throw or two that he was fricked up? I could and I was drunk in a bar in Utah.

It bears repeating.

Dude, we couldn't have beaten Vandy the week before with our other QBs. That's why White was forced to come off the bench when he hadn't practiced all week.

He didn't lie to the coaches about his health - they knew he was only 60-70% at best, they also knew that still put him ahead of the JJ/JFIII Derp Brigade.

QB Rankings
Stidham 1A
Malik 1B
White 3

Yes I was that impressed with Malik. Do not redshirt this guy.

If we get Fields then we dont need to redshirt him. If Fields commits elsewhere we absolutely need to redshirt him.

Why not? I get it if Stidham goes down with an injury very early and Malik is clearly better than White, but otherwise, I'd plan to keep that redshirt.

Redshirt Malik. Someone gets hurt, take it off. Simple.

I'm glad the family could give us that. I severely doubt Gus names the starter.

I'm surprised they didn't ban the poster naming him starter due to interfering with Gus's timeline and therefore being deemed a bannable nega-barner.

My thinking about not redshirting MW is that make him second string, let him play this year and get experience. It is possible Stidham plays 1 or 2 years. If Stidham does go pro, I want a QB next year that has taken snaps. I love SW, but he needs to graduate and go to UCONN for his senior year.
