Last year I believe was an example of coaches that wanted someone to be something they weren't...I.E. JFIII! He has a strong arm and amazing speed, but he just isn't a QB or we couldn't develop him. SW might have been the best, but they knew that wouldn't be enough.

It has become obvious over the years that Gus has no idea what to look for in fall camp. It takes him 4 games to figure his team out. Even happened with Newton. But the stupid shite we see like the twirlybird (why did we call that CoxCat), playing the Mocha Nightmare at Wildcat in 2013, the annual shuffling of the OL all need to stop under Chip.

That is not completely true. Pettway was not allowed to play in the first game because of Mary Jane.

That's the part that has always bothered me about how Malzahn works the offense. I get that you'll end up shifting people around once the season starts, but what takes most coaches 0-2 games to figure out, it takes Malzahn half the season.
