Fire garner on the second.

I think a good start would be if we have 3rd and a quarter mile on them that we do not let them get a half mile for the first down...repeatedly.

That burnt me up last game.

What are you guys thoughts on Sean White having not thrown a touchdown pass since becoming a starter? That appears to be the talk radio topic of the week. Will it bite us Saturday?

Meh. Means Gus has decided to run when we get close to the goal line. Wasn't this what we were complaining about earlier?

I'd feel pretty good. It would mean our O is clicking with White and our D did enough to stop arKansas' running game. We would be improving, which is a good sign.

I was researching some games for my other pick 'em league and some betting websites have arKansas winning big against us. Vegas has zero confidence in Auburn. If we lose big, it would really depend on how we lost. Did we fight and never give up or did we quit?

Too early to tell about the hot seat for Gus. I believe what killed Chiz was how the team just gave up. It was clear that he had lost control. Gus hasn't and the team is improving. I really think if Johnson didn't get the yips and Lawson drank some milk in the off season, we'd still be in contention for the SEC West.

I'm feeling optimistic, but that might be because I am watching a replay of the Kentucky game.

I imagine Arkansas's game plan will be possession/chew up the clock/grind it out.

I think KY was probably a tougher atmosphere than Arkansas will be based on the time of the game and the excitement leading into last week's game.

Instead of comparing AU's stats to Arkansas's stats, I'd be curious to see how Arkansas compares to Kentucky and Ms State.

Gus continually said at the beginning of the season this team has the chance to get better every week. I think we've seen that the last few weeks. If we play better than we did against Kentucky then we should have a good shot in this game.

AU held UK to 5-of-13 on 3rd down conversions, or 38.5%, which is roughly the FBS average thus far this season (coming into the game, our season average was 47.1%, worst in the SEC by a wide margin and roughly #115th in FBS). So we played better on 3rd down against UK than we had all year, which is good news.

Now the bad news: UK was 0-8 (0%) on 3rd down attempts of less than 8 yards, and 5-5 (100%) on 3rd down attempts of 8 or more (specifically, they converted 3rd downs of 8, 9, 11, 11, and 22 yards).

On their final TD drive, they converted a 3rd-and-10 successfully, but PI against Auburn gave them better field position, so it didn't count in the above numbers. They also threw an incompletion on 3rd-and-4 later in that drive that resulted in another defensive PI to move the chains.

So, you had every reason to be burnt up.

Vegas Odds reflect betting patterns this close to a game not "Confidence" in a team. If they are giving Arkansas + a ton of points, it means that right now there are no bets coming in on Auburn's side.

This shouldn't be that big of a surprise considering CFB has forgotten about Auburn. This is messed up to me that we have no votes while some of these frauds have multiple

P5 Teams ranked with 2 losses

Michigan - #15
Ole Miss - #24

P5 Teams with 3 losses with AP Votes

Arizona State (10)

P5 + other Teams with 2 losses with votes

BYU (21)
UCLA (18)
Texas (Tech (14)
Georgia (12)
Arizona State (10)
Wisconsin (8)
Boise State (8)
Utah State (7)

No, Gus didnt just run when we got close to the goal line. Remember Sw's two passes in the last two games into the endzone, that almost got picked off? So they have tried to pass into the EZ, but with almost a INT, they then went back to running it in.

11AM + rain? I don't see the crowd being too rough. The conditions probably will be worse

I said this because there was a ton of excitement around this game for KY. They'd gotten off to a great start, first Thursday night game in 70+ years, national TV, a chance to upset AU, etc. Add the 11 AM kick off and rain to the AU/Ark game I would bet money the atmosphere won't play nearly as a big of a factor as it did against KY.

Everyone is confusing the Kentucky and Mississippi St Thursday game in 2010

Both games won in 4th qtr FG with sub 1 minute left. Both were dark at the end of the game. Both games Cam played like a champ. Both games were a lot closer than we'd hoped
