He won't be a 2* long if he has similar camps for other schools like he had for AU 2 weeks ago.

For Auburn WR coach Kodi Burns, the key to recruiting is embracing the grind

Surprisingly there is still not much movement on McMichael's CB. There are 3 total picks though one is by Wiltfong but it was back in May. Nothing from either team's insiders so far. Genuinely sounds like everyone is in the dark. I don't think our chances are great tho

Three-Point Stance: Five-star QB decommits, USC QB recruiting (Rivals)
quote:

1. BREAKING DOWN FIELDS AND CORRAL

It’s late June and there are two recently decommitted five-star quarterback prospects available, which is not exactly a common occurrence in Rivals.com history. So the questions surrounding where Justin Fields and Matt Corral will end up are endless and the intrigue is great, especially since both are looking at some of the same schools. While no one knows where either will commit, here’s my best effort at a breakdown.

The players for Fields include home-state school Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Penn State (where he was committed before) and USC, to my knowledge. Assuming Penn State won’t happen, as re-commitments are highly unlikely in the recruiting world, many feel this will come down to Georgia, Florida and Florida State.

Fields took recent visits to Georgia, Auburn and Florida State and is coming off a two-day visit to Florida. He has obviously seen Penn State and also took a visit to USC a few weeks back according to sources.

Now, this is where things get interesting. Some sources tell me he’s a silent commitment to Georgia and has already told Kirby Smart he’s coming.
Others feel that Florida State has taken the lead after Fields recently visited with Jimbo Fisher at camp, and still others think the Gators have the edge because he’s been there at least three times now and the opportunity to play right away is obvious. And still others think a return trip to Los Angeles, where he has some family, is in the works before a final decision is made.

Where do I think he’ll end up? No clue. This is one of those situations where only those very close to Fields know what is going on and everyone seems to be hearing what they want to hear. My best guess is still Florida, but I seem to be in the minority there.

Let's hope Farrell's sources suck... My guess is that UGA 247 guys are talking to same people and that's why they put in CB picks yesterday

Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge: Florida predictions (Rivals)
quote:

The Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge presented by adidas was more than a day of high-level on-field action. There was plenty of prospect interaction. Interviews were conducted and conversations were had. And while the few uncommitted prospects from the state of Florida were among the hardest to read, Rivals.com gives it a shot below.

4* OT John Campbell

Situation: Campbell intends to announce a decision in July. And while he seemed destined for Florida for some time, there’s reason to think Miami is trending in the right direction for his commitment. Would it shock anyone if he landed in Gainesville? Of course not, but the odds are certainly evening up in recent weeks.

Prediction: Miami

4* S Jamien Sherwood

Situation: Sherwood once looked destined for Miami, but that seems less certain these days. The Hurricanes could still land his commitment. And, to a lesser extent, the other in-state schools also have a fighting chance. Sherwood has always said he’d prefer to stay in state, but Auburn has made a strong play in recent weeks. The Tigers have a real chance of stealing the safety and things are trending in their favor recently.

Prediction: Auburn

He's a big dude. My guess is he starts at SS but could grow into an OLB

Auburn in top 5 for in-state DL (Rivals)
quote:

Auburn is among the favorites for Jackson-Olin defensive lineman Coynis Miller.

The four-star recruit released his top five schools Thursday morning, which included Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Louisville and Oregon.

Auburn making the cut shouldn't come as a surprise.

Miller has visited Auburn several times, including most recently for the Tigers’ Big Cat event June 3. He’s also developed a strong bond with defensive line coach Rodney Garner, and is close friends and former teammates with Auburn freshman linebacker Tadarian Moultry.

“It's like family,” Miller said after Big Cat. “It’s laid back.”

Miller’s first season at Auburn wouldn’t be laid back, though. Garner already has informed the defensive tackle to be ready to play as a freshman should he sign with Auburn.

“That's a big thing,” Miller said. “I'm looking to play early.”

Miller could make an early commitment. He at least hopes to, although only if he’s certain of his decision.

“I talked to my coach (Tim Vakakes) and some more people about committing before the season,” Miller said. “My coach just told me to take my time with it. If I'm ready, then I've got his support and I can go ahead and do it. He told me he wants me to take my time with it and make sure I pick the right school.”

Rivals ranks Miller, who is listed at 6-foot-3 and 295 pounds, the No. 11 strongside defensive end in the 2018 class and No. 207 in the Rivals250.

we need some recruiting momentum. Seems like nothing is really happening. Coaches need to pick it up a notch.

LSU now has 19 commits which is crazy but their average is 88.76. That's worse than our average recruit rating last year and would be their worst since 2010

They still have some big names left like Terrace Marshall, Jamarr Chase and Harold Joiner who will bump that up but interesting to see how many lower rated guys they are taking right now

August will be a big month. We will have a much better feeling for how good or bad this class is going to end up

FWIW a lot of smoke that Shedrick Jackson commits next week but there's been smoke about him committing since his offer

Goes like that a lot in AU recruiting. We do a good job of finding guys early but struggle to close at times on them. Again, winning fixes a lot of those issues

I also think it's interesting the mixed signals coming out for players this cycle. Seems like more than usual "insiders" are hearing different things. Multiple AU sites seem to now think AU leads for Coynis Miller while all the Bama guys still feel really good about getting him. There's all the Fields drama and mixed signals coming out about Justyn Ross as well. LSU side thinks they are gonna close on Andres Fox while AU feels good about where they stand. Seems like people having a harder time getting solid intel on recruits this year

Reading the minds an predicting the decisions of high school kids....a job I would never want to have especially when the fan base you cover destroys you for making the wrong pics.

Three of Auburn’s 2019 recruiting targets announce interest in Tigers (SECCountry)
quote:

WR will choose Auburn, UGA or Clemson in August

It’s down to Auburn, Georgia and Clemson.

Dominick Blaylock has a decision to make. The 5-star wide receiver from Walton (Ga.), despite being a 2019 prospect, is nearing a decision. Blaylock visited all three programs a few weeks ago, and that’ll likely be a trend throughout this summer, as he approached his announcement.

“Right now, I’m just giving love to my top three schools,” Blaylock said. “I’m going to make my decision by August, but I’m going to keep it private. Then I’ll probably make it known by the beginning of the season.”

Blaylock is the No. 2-ranked wide receiver in the 2019 class, per the 247Sports composite.

As the No. 17 overall prospect, he’s been at the forefront of the recruiting circuit since his freshman year of high school. Blaylock said he doesn’t think there’s much more for him to see than he’s already seen in his two-year recruiting experience, which is why he plans to close down his recruitment in the near future.

“It’s getting to be a little pressure. I’d rather just get it over with and get a good feel for the school I’m going to,” Blaylock said.

The 6-foot-1, 189-pound wide receiver has been most predicted to go to the in-state Bulldogs. Clemson has also been considered one of the favorites. But Auburn has managed to hang around in the competition, and Blaylock keeps coming back.

If Auburn has a shot, what will it be based on?

“A really good coaching staff. They have a lot of heart, and they’re really fun to be around,” Blaylock said. “I’m basically just going to spend time with coaches and build relationships with them.”
