Agree it was a possibility, but uga fired Richt because they wanted to get him before SC. Maybe if he was at AU Richt is still at uga. Vince Dooley came hours away returning to his alma mater, AU, but didn't so you never know. I personally think we didn't hire Kirby because he wanted to cheat more than AU was comfortable with. Yes I said it.

He is supposed to start his OV today so I imagine we won't hear anything until Sunday.

We are comfortable with our fair share of cheating, and I don't think that's why we didn't hire Kirby but he has def taken the shady side to an impressive level.

No, I don't think RIcht would have still been there even if we had gotten Smart. GA was tired of his 'good record, no championship' opportunities.
GA would have gone after possibly Jimbo Fisher or another big name coach. They were tired of Richt...

Of course I don't know for sure, but I live in Atl and "unfortunately" listen to Atl sports radio and such... A lot of people said they made their decision based on usce going after Kirby. The safe choice was to keep Richt unless something like that happens
