don't think his size + running style makes him a RB and I don't think he has the speed to really be a WR
WRs don't have to have a lot of speed to be good WRs. Just as Jerry Rice.

Maybe a big slot WR would be a better way of using him
This is what I had in mind for HJ, an Anthony Mix type.

FWIW AU sources still feel confident we get Fields & still feel FSU is the biggest threat. It would be nice if the recruiting media saw it that way from a consensus standpoint.

DC has been posting this on Twitter, a lot about Jimbo being a QB guru. He scares me in this recruitment. He can not coach a lick, but he can recruit.

Shea Dixon on LSU's 247 posted some tidbits this morning and seems to think LSU is the leader for Tae Provens. Have a hard time seeing them take both Provens and Joiner but we will see

Also Fox told bama 247 guys they are pressing for a commitment. Honestly not sure where he lands. His inner circle of bama folks scares me

It's a good thing CDC can only talk to JF when JF is on campus but yeah I share the concern.

With respect I can if they want both. They would not play the same RB role.

Just read them. Sounds like LSU has a lot of RBs in play. Joiner & Provens very well may not have committable offers from LSU if they both wait til August to pop.

Comes with the territory of recruiting in-state when you're not THE state school. Most kids and their families are fans of the state school. Tough to overcome. It's why Auburn is a top 5 SEC job and not potentially higher....it's a little tougher to recruit.

Where does this Fisher myth come from? His QBs sucks balls in the NFL, with the exception of maybe Jameis in the future.

Ponder was beyond awful, Manuel sucks, and Winston was the #1 or 2 QB in his class and he Fisher were a clown show together in college.

that's easy to sell around to recruits. He just says "my job is to get you to the NFL in the 1st round, once you're there it's your job to make the most of it".

At least, that's how I'd spin it.

At least he gets them there, and he almost ALWAYS has a quality quarterback in his offense in college. He even grooms quarterbacks that go on to have success at other schools.

Jameis Winston (!)
Jacob Coker
Clint Truckett
Rohan Davey
Matt Flynn
Jamarcus Russell (!)
Christian Ponder (!)
EJ Manuel (!)

And Deandre Francois is well on his way to becoming a household name after a damned good freshman season.

True but it should be pretty easy to counter that all those guys were terrible in the NFL with the jury still being out on Winston. In over 20 years of coaching countless star QBs he has yet to have one have NFL success.

What they did in the NFL isn't going to matter to most recruits and rarely ever has. Look at the Bama players that haven't excelled in the pros. The sell is getting the recruits to the pros & it's a very effective one. Once players reach the pros it's up to them & their pro coaching as to how they develop.

Compared to how long an NFL career lasts, it's a lot
