Kinda related, but just saw we got another CB for Jibunor. Does he project as a guy that can become an edge rusher or more of a true OLB?

12 DEs in 5 years? Seems reasonable to me.
Considering 4 of them habe never played a snap at DE for Auburn then 8 in 5 years Is not very good.
How many on that list have recorded a sack in their auburn careers?

But very few were true rush ends which was part of the original thesis of this discussion.
This + we didn't backfill DE recruiting when we lost some to attrition.
I don't have an issue with recruiting ~2DE a year for typical attrition, but 50+% DE attrition requires you to grab >2 DEs to make up for the complete lack of depth
Also, stop including Prince Sammons as a DE. We recruited him as a OT and only got him cause of Herbie Hand. He never was considered a DE during recruiting / rumored to try out there

Alright back from traveling all over the place. OP is updated. Because of character limit I broke off part of the OP to put in 2nd post. Tracking visits is a pain so I got rid of it and moved the snapshot links & calendar/shirting information there. If I run into more character issues then I might adjust it further
All of that to say, OP is updated so don't bitch
Edit: Haven't updated class rankings yet because I don't feel like it

According to Tim Watts on Bama 247, Seth Williams to AU is a real threat. Sees earlier playing time opportunity at AU. Did not attend Bama's event
Also says that Michael Parker impressed at Bama's camp. If you remember he was the 2* TE that earned an offer at AU camp earlier this summer. Sounds like Bama might offer. If they do, he's probably a lock there. Two brothers are walk ons at Bama

Nuh uh that can't be true. The last few pages of this thread told me only we take 3 stars and our class sucks. No way Bama takes a 2 star kid. That's only what we would do.

Fingers crossed.

I feel like we would have to miss out on Hill or Ross for this to happen but it's good to have options.

KN has said that AU would take all four of Ross/Hill/Williams/Jackson especially since Fuqua is moving to safety
Starting to worry some on Hill. When guys are on commit watch this long makes you wonder if he isn't as big of a lean as thought. Building confidence with Williams. Watts is pretty dead on and if he's saying it's a possibility plus the fact Bama is trending for other WRs makes me like our odds

I'm sure we would take them all but I doubt they would all come. I think if we had 2/3 of Ross, Hill, or Williams on board the third would go elsewhere or if all 3 committed Shedrick may have second thoughts.

Pretty sure that's meta but I could be wrong. Burns is the fun scapegoat now that Lashlee is gone

Ha, I love Kodi way too much to ever get too down on him.

Key was a serious grade/test risk. Nobody, not even Arden was certain he would qualify.
Not that we backed off, but it seems like it was more than just a concern. He is not at LSU this year IIRC.

Arden Key is back but he had shoulder surgery at some point prior to June

Good read from DawgNation. Some positives for each school. I got some of the mom/stepmom particulars wrong. My apologies.

very wide-ranging conversation with 5-star QB Justin Fields

KENNESAW, Ga. — Justin Fields prays.
Head bowed. Hands clasped. The nation’s No. 1 player for 2018 (and enormous UGA target) searches for the slightest hint of where he should play college football.
“I think about it every day,” Fields said. “I pray every night. Just for God to give me a sign of where he wants me to go. I just ask him for a sign. I want him to tell me right now, but his timing is always right. So I am just going to wait patiently on him.”
DawgNation had a wide-ranging discussion with Fields on Tuesday evening. That was on the first official day of fall practice for Georgia High School Association member schools.
Harrison High, which will be led by Fields, is prepping for a big season. The Hoyas open their season against defending state champion Rome. There’s also an ESPN clash with Dalton set for this fall.
Let’s tackle the question on everyone’s mind first.
“I don’t have a set date when I am committing,” Fields said. “Literally. When I know I am going to commit, I’m going to hit the people up on a video and ask them to film it. But there are all of these rumors that I’m going to commit on a certain date. I’m not going to be like that. I’m not that guy that is going to say ‘My Top 10 is dropping in two weeks’ or ‘I’m committing in a certain number of days’ because I’m not really ever going to have like a set date. I am going to sort of post it on Twitter and go from there.”
That seems like a good kickoff for the conversation. We’ve got a lot of Qs and As to get through with the 5-star who also has a 3.9 grade-point average and a 29 on his ACT. That’s what the nation’s No. 1 prospect for 2018 can also do with that school book, too.
Lightning round for a few meaty topics with Justin Fields.
Fields said he has not eliminated any of his core schools. Not even a Florida team that just picked up 5-star QB Matt Corral. The schools on his mind: Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia and Penn State.
He’s not sure about enrolling early anymore. He might. That depends on the depth chart situation at a favored school.
College baseball is also a big option. His father, Ivant Fields, really wants him to play college baseball.
“My Dad really wants me to do it so bad,” Justin Fields said. “But I am kind of distant from baseball. My love
for the game is all in football. But I guess my Dad is talking about not closing any doors because I’m pretty good at baseball. I probably won’t play like for the team in college. Maybe I will probably get like a few swings in or maybe practice with the team. I realize how hard it is to be fighting for a job. You can’t go play baseball. You have to be all in with football until you have the job secured.”
He really doesn’t know right now. “When I know, I will commit. Because I want to commit and start building that class with me. Because I want great players to come along and play with me.”
When asked, Fields said he thinks his decision could be a tipping point for up to eight other players to follow him. “I’ve been talking to guys,” he said. “Probably like eight. These are receivers, tight ends, defensive backs and running backs. Pretty much all of those positions.”
When they met up at The Opening, Fields really thought that Matt Corral was about to commit to Georgia. Corral chose Florida this weekend. That decision came quickly on his first visit.
