RB target releases top 3
It's gonna be ridiculous if UGA gets both Master Teague and Zamir White. Chubb and Michel had to literally call a meeting with Chaney to get him to run the ball more... I am gonna be super salty about losing out on Teague if it happens
quote:
With a commitment likely coming in the near future, Master Teague of Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Blackman, a top running back target for Auburn, narrowed things down significantly Wednesday and released a top three via Twitter.
As expected, the Tigers made the cut.
So did Georgia and Tennessee.
The Bulldogs have gained a significant amount of momentum with the 247Sports Crystal Ball this week and now are getting 46 percent of the media predictions with Auburn next at 38 percent.
Our intel suggests it likely will come down to the Tigers and Bulldogs. At this time, the level of confidence coming from Athens, Ga., seems higher than with his other top schools, including Auburn.
Teague, the No. 9 running back in the 247Sports rankings, is high on the Auburn board. But so is 4-star back Asa Martin of Decatur (Ala.). The Tigers could live with landing either from what we are told.
Monday night, Teague Tweeted out that his " decision is coming soon!"

Kipp Adams flipped his CB to UGA...

Read UGA 247 updates. Basically they rechecked sources after Wiltfong's update where he said AU lead last week but now UGA ahead and they think that is the case as well. He is going to announce June 27th so still time to get back ahead.
We really need to bring Dell McGree home

Trey Hill says there is a 75-80% chance he comes to BCW so take that FWIW

4* QB Gerry Bohanona is postponing decision. Will release a top 5 tomorrow. I think AU will be on the list but we will see

UGA buddy of mine who tends to find things out said that Zamir White is supposed to announce for UGA in July.

RB recruiting seems to be the antithesis of the rest of our recruiting - we haven't been getting high profile guys, but the ones we have gotten haven actually developed and produced arguably better than any other position on our team. Credit to Horton. I don't understand though why that production has not led to more high 4*/5* guys jumping on board. You will rush for 1000 yards here and get drafted in the NFL.

Roc Thomas and Kerryon Johnson were both 4/5 star guys right? I do understand your point. Those kinds of RBs should be lining up to come here.

Dameon Pierce decommits from Bama. Horton has been after him hard for awhile now. If we miss out on Teague might see us push hard for this kid. Bama 247 says Tide might start coming after Asa Martin harder

Crystal Balls already coming in for Martin to Bama. I swear if we miss on Martin, Joiner, and Teague to our three biggest rivals...
I guess Joiner isn't a RB on our board but still... Frick

I will melt with you over Teague. That dude is a stud and if UGA get both White and Teague thats just dumb
I am not sold on Martin yet and would honestly rather us take Pierce if possible. Now my opinion could change if he balls out this year but right now I don't know if he's a great fit
Joiner is a stud but not a RB. Still would be pissed to lose out on him because LSU sold him on something that probably? won't be true
Missing on all 3 would really suck... I just have to think we get one of em but doesn't look great right now. I am hoping we can get in on Pierce at least. Would be a solid backup plan on Teague

Bama pretty much always gets a crystal ball for any player they pursue regardless of said players interest. Its kinda how it seems these days...for good reason.

Just saw that KN flipped CB pick on Joiner to LSU. He is saying that he still thinks Martin will come down to AU/UF but obviously can never count out Bama

5 SEC schools make LB Owen Pappoe’s top-10 list (SECCountry)
quote:
Owen Pappoe is one of the most coveted prospects of the 2019 class, a 6-foot-1 outside linebacker out of Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga.
Late on Sunday night, Pappoe narrowed his extensive list of college suitors down to 10. The list is, not surprisingly, SEC-heavy, with Florida, Tennessee, LSU, Georgia, Alabama and Auburn featured.
Recruits narrowing down their suitors to a top 10 or top 5 has been in vogue of late. And though the list is obviously subject to change, it is excellent news for the five SEC schools still in the running.
Pappoe has long been one of the top recruits, last year becoming the youngest recruit to earn an invite to The Opening, Nike’s invite-only event each summer in Beaverton, Ore.
“It definitely wasn’t something we were looking to do, in terms of inviting a freshman, but his resume as we got to the end of the year was certainly very strong,” Student Sports president Brian Stumpf said of The Opening invite, according to Bleacher Report.
It likely will be the last time Pappoe’s success comes as a surprise.
His first offer came when he was in eighth grade, and Clemson became the second school to offer when Pappoe was a freshman. He already has visited Florida State and Florida, and Pappoe is scheduled to visit Georgia, just a 20-minute drive from his home, on May 20.
Pappoe has been reported to be high on Florida State.
“I told myself that usually people don’t start their recruiting process until like their junior year, so once junior year hits that is when I am going to start cracking it down,” Pappoe told Tallahassee.com in February. “I plan on dropping like a top ten or a top twelve, something next year.”
The top 10 has been dropped.
Which school comes out No. 1 is yet to be determined.

Auburn LB target Quay Walker shares how long he’s been interested in Tigers (SECCountry)
quote:
Major LB target updates connection to Tigers
When Quay Walker recently released a new top 5, there wasn’t any surprise that Auburn made the list.
The Tigers have been a favorite of Walker’s since the beginning. In fact, it goes much further back than his high school teammate Markaviest Bryant’s decision to sign with Auburn.
Walker has been high on the Tigers, as he puts it, well before Bryant was.
“What most people don’t know, that was the first campus I ever stepped on, the first college football game I’ve ever been to. That’s pretty much why Auburn’s in the top 5,” Walker told SEC Country. “Before Big Cat fell in love with Auburn, I was already telling him about them. They’re just different. With them, he hasn’t told me a whole lot yet, but when he gets over there, he’s going to tell me what all goes on with them, so that I know about it.”
Walker’s new list offered a slight wrinkle, something that likely was a welcome sight for Auburn and others.
Georgia has long been considered one of the primary front-runners to land the versatile outside linebacker. But with Walker’s new list, Georgia was replaced with South Carolina, citing the Gamecocks making it much more clear that they want him.
For the Tigers, that should be a positive sign, as Auburn, Alabama and Georgia always have been a part of the conversation with Walker. Auburn will remain in contention until the end, which could come as soon as this summer.
The reason for that: Gus Malzahn and Travis Williams.
“Coach Malzahn, he’s pretty much different than all the other coaches. Coach T-Will, as a position coach, just stands out. He’s the father-figure type. I can pretty much talk to him about anything right now. Me and him, I talk to him just about every day,” Walker said. “Every time I go to Auburn, I get a home feeling.”
Despite his long-standing love for the Tigers, Auburn is playing behind its in-state rival in this race.
Walker told SEC Country that the Crimson Tide are “no doubt” recruiting him the hardest of his entire top 5, which includes Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU and South Carolina. A source close to his recruitment told SEC Country that Alabama will be a tough program to beat. The Crimson Tide are heavily invested in landing Walker, and he wants to get his mother with him on campus in Tuscaloosa.
Another cause for concern on Auburn’s end?
Walker was asked to share one random thing that he’d like fans of schools to know. His response, while not explicitly directed at Auburn, seemed to have Big Cat undertones.
“I’m different. I’m not going to go somewhere just because someone else went there. I’m my own person,” Walker said.

Tigers crack top 12 for in-state RB
Another non-surprise: Auburn made Harold Joiner’s top 12.
On Sunday, one of the state of Alabama’s top running backs listed the double-digit schools that will garner the majority of his interest throughout the rest of his recruitment. That’s a much higher number than the unofficial handful of programs — Auburn and LSU, primarily — Joiner has mentioned in most interviews since his recruitment took off.
When SEC Country spoke with Joiner last month, he indicated that LSU remains his favorite. Out of all the programs recruiting him, LSU has made it most clear it wants him as a running back. Others haven’t determined whether they want him as a running back or potentially as a tight end/wide receiver. Alabama even gave him an athlete offer, with it possibility being on the defensive side of the ball.
One important, and rare, thing to track will be Joiner’s height. He understands many schools like him at receiver because he already stands 6-foot-3. If he grows, it might force Joiner to look at his recruitment exclusively as a wide receiver, which might alter where he feels like a better fit.

State’s top RB, Asa Martin, visits the Plains
Auburn hosted a major visitor over the weekend.
As a run-first offense — at least in previous Gus Malzahn years — the Tigers continue their search for their feature running back in the 2018 recruiting class. Shaun Shivers is already on board, but Auburn hopes to take one or two more.
The top running back in the state, Asa Martin, visited the Plains with his family this weekend, which included a photo op with Malzahn.
Martin has referred to Florida as his top school more than once, but told SEC Country recently that Auburn had closed that gap significantly. A big piece of the puzzle missing was the Auburn coaching staff’s relationship with his mother compared to the Florida staff.
It appears the Tigers are making serious moves to make up for lost time.

Auburn already set with 5-star list for upcoming Big Cat Weekend (SECCountry)
quote:
Early look at Big Cat Weekend
It’s a little early to look at this, but Auburn is only a few weeks away from its biggest recruiting event of the year: Big Cat Weekend.
On June 3, the Tigers will host its usual star-studded summer lineup, as it attempts to get its 2018 recruiting class in full swing. The 2017 gained some momentum following the weekend last year when the Tigers went on a commit binge with many of its eventual class members.
The way this recruiting class is shaking out, it appears Big Cat Weekend will once again key Auburn’s recruiting success throughout the rest of the summer. Auburn’s list will likely grow in the coming weeks as a couple “RSVP maybes” change their weekend decision to “yes.”
For now, take at eight prospects who have already confirmed they’ll be on campus that weekend.
