right now we have 3 freshmen and 3 sophomores starting on both sides of the ball not including Tim Irvin who plays a lot. We also have Holland and Cowart playing a good bit on defense and Kerryon Johnson picking up playing time on offense.

So why haven't we been using the ol' "we're young" excuse? That's a tried and true excuse for Auburn.

It seems like I hear the "we're young" excuse every year. Definitely on the defensive side. I've heard that for damn near a decade.

5* DT Shavar Manuel set OV to AU for the UGA game. We were co-leaders a month ago with LSU, now his top 2 is LSU/UF with FSU and AU trailing.

Baiting the Negas with below:

quote:

On LSU: “I have a great relationship with (defensive line coach Ed Orgeron). He knows his stuff. LSU just gets after the quarterback week after week. Coach O’ puts people in the right positions to be successful.”

On Florida: “Florida’s defensive line hurts the quarterback really well. They always have a great defense. When it comes down to it, I can be successful there.”

quote:

Auburn has dropped because he hasn’t liked what he has seen from the Tigers’ defense so far.

“It’s concerning to me considering what I know (Auburn defensive coordinator) Will Muschamp is capable of,” Manuel said. “It’s really shocking to me that they have struggled, but I believe Auburn will turn it around.”

He continued: “Will Muschamp came there for a reason and that was to make the defense stronger and to play better. (LSU running back) Leonard Fournette and the Jacksonville State team played well against them. It was really shocking to see that because I was expecting Auburn to have a dominant defense. I think they’ll get it fixed soon.”

He's saying everything that everyone else sees. Pretty sad.

There are always *reasons* that a team is or may be playing bad. Just like there are reasons a team plays well.

Why does defining these possible reasons offend many of you? You don't think there are explanation and reasons that are valid? You think the bad play and good play of a team is a mere random act of #deity? Explaining these reasons is making excuses to you?

Got to hand it to the guy for not beating around the bush and telling the truth. This makes me like the kid even more for being honest and not saying what people want to hear.

So, which Junior College quarterback do we hope to land?

Jerod Evans?
Sederian Copeland?
Anfernee Bruton?
John Franklin III?

It's no secret we are going hard after them and want to add at least one more quarterback to this class, per Rivals.

Jerod Evans looks solid. Don't really like any of the others.

so that means we're trying to land 3 quarterbacks this year? If this is true I would like to see them go ahead and send all our current home because that is just insanity. We need to add depth o the defense, not all of the class into the quarterback position.

on a glance I read this as us looking at a JUCO quarterback and at least one more to go with Barrett too.

Don't understand recruiting numbers, but Jamel Dean counting as a 2016 recruit since he did not join the team until Summer (KN), kid who transferred from OSU (corrected).
