Next year give me Holsey and Mincey at 1 & 2, Whitehead playing nickel, with Jones and Ruffin rotating in. That would be our best group of corners since pre-Neiko by a long shot. I would fap for days.
Except when you consider if there is not enough development with other safeties moving Holsey and Whitehead to CB could create a total shiteshow at Safety.

I think therezie is our best, just MO. He's the only one I notice this year.
Agreed. IMO when Davis has been healthy he has easily been the 2nd best consistently on D. He is great on Run support and he ain't giving up shite in the pass game.

Not sure if HOlsey and Whitehead could make the transition back to corner. They'd have to relearn techniques, reacquaint themselves with the position, forget what they learned at safety. It's just unrealistic

And we already don't have any depth at safety so that would never happen and shouldn't happen.

Of our remaining spots available, I'm trying to decide what position on each side of the ball is most important to recruit hard. Thoughts?
IMO both our biggest needs are on D at DT and safety. If we can get some quality safeties or develop the ones we have now then we can move Holsey to his natural position of CB where he would likely be a starter next year...You always need quality DTs, especially in the SEC.

He is 3rd string at Star position as of now. Behind Therezie and King

I would take my chances with the likes of Derrick Moncrief, Brandon King, Mackenro Alexander, and Khari Harding. That's the most physically imposing group of safeties at Auburn since at least 07. Holsey and Whitehead are both about 5'9" 200 lbs.
Gene Chizik isn't running the show anymore so I'm going to trust that these coaches can develop at least 2 guys that are natural safeties.

They both looked pretty natural at the position as true freshmen and both came up through HS playing CB. They would be fine.
Same thing as Moncrief, King, Mackenro, and Harding. All of those guys came up playing safety and are natural safeties.

Just let the DBs play their natural positions and the numbers work themselves out.

The things to say are so dumb sometimes. Unrealistic its moving Reese Dismukes to corner. Moving a safety over to corner is not that uncommon.

With safety issues already yeah it's unrealistic. We can hardly field a 2-deep now

Edit: And of course you can't hold a conversation on a disagreement without calling the other side dumb. I laughed.

I feel like we can talk on the same level then.

various AUC notes LINK

-Duron Payne can dunk a basketball at 325 lbs, Garner is his lead, hopes to come to another Auburn game this season, & says Auburn is very close to Bama on his list.
- Jordan Sims was the only player at the Bama camp this summer that could block Duron Payne. Sims will visit for the Ole Miss game. His HS coach is an Auburn graduate. Garner is his lead recruiter. He wants to commit before the end of October but will still take all his OVs. Bama will get an OV.
-Commits DQ & DM plan to be at the Ole Miss game
-Ricky Parks is at NE Mississippi CC and is out for the season w/ a torn labrum. TIFWIW Parks says AU wants him back. KN doubts this is true since RP was dismissed for violating team rules.
-Moncrief plans to be an EE.
-Ole Miss commit CJ Hampton plans to OV Auburn.

I want Sticky Ricky back. TE depth is bad right now. Uzomah and Fulse are seniors next year. Mitchell is an H-Back and Laye is meh. Are we looking at any other TEs?

I thought Ricky Parks would have fit the offense well, in some capacity. The thing is, we know Gus Malzahn will give players second chances (Cam Newton at Auburn, Mike Dyer at Arky State, Nick Marshall at Auburn), but will he give a former player a second chance after he transferred out due to breaking the rules?

Either way, the tight end position isn't utilized that much in Gus Malzahn's offense unless it's in a blocking role. It's a position we can afford to miss on.

I've heard Parks, Pat Miller, and Fulse had to go to rehab. Miller and Fulse completed it, Ricky didn't. TIFWIW
