Bielema was going to make us competitive by fielding strong lines, always having a good running game, and playing sound, physical, ball control football.

We don't have a good running game. Our o-line is weak and our d-line is mediocre. We aren't fundamentaly sound. We show flashes of physicality but it's not there more than it is there.

Brandon Allen and Austin Allen have almost singlehandedly made us a competitive team the last 2 seasons. What happens when Austin is injured or moves on and the next few QB's we have aren't grade A playmakers? Without superb QB play we're Kentucky.

In year 4, I did not expect to win the division or even get close to 10 wins (I predicted 8-4). But I did expect to see the team become more of what I thought we were getting when we signed up for Bielema and it seems like we've regressed.

This may not be on Bielema though. This may just be the reality of Arkansas football given our location and competition.

I get the frustration but winning 7-8 this year would be an accomplishment given the production we lost last year.

This is year 4...there's no excuse... get better athletes or get run out of the league...simple as that.

It's year four. Should have people to replace them. Just like Houston. Keep making excuses until it's been 10 years and we haven't won jack shite. What'd Petrino do year 3 and 4?

This team looks just like the 2011 team, we will see if they can pick up the lucky horseshoe that fell out of tenners arse and finish with a similar record to the 2011 team.

We just got beat by the best team in the nation. It happens. Am I disappointed? Yes. Am I going to hammer the final nail on this season right now? No.

As someone else said: we were 2-4 at this point last season. We are 4-2 right now. Lots of football to be played before we judge the direction of the program. Don't be a prisoner of the moment.

Houston lost to Navy. We lost to the #1 team in the country and defending national champions.

Solid comparison

He was talking about Nutt, but we needed luck to go our way to beat an om team that was on their way to a 13 game sec losing streak in year four and beat vandy the same year.

Oh

Petrino is a great offensive mind but do you guys not remember our defense being as bad then as tonight? And he was here during a great in-state recruiting crop. Every coach that has done anything successful has needed great in-state recruits.

We've lost 10 years in a row to Saban. That's not all on Bielema. Petrino is equally to blame.

Hell, it's probably not even Bielema's fault. Arkansas just doesn't have the recruiting advantages to be a top team in this league.

I said this to my buddy as we were sitting in the stands tonight -- we're basically a Bobby Petrino Razorback team in a tougher SEC.

Great passing game on the backs of a great QB, good receivers, and good TE but can't run, terrible OL all around, awful defense, and bad recruiting.

I think we can run a lot better than we showed tonight. As I said before the game, Saban would take away the run and force us to beat them throwing and we threw pretty well considering our pass pro sucks.

As much as people don't want to admit it, Broyles was right. He was wrong about money - that's not an issue in the modern day - but the fact remains we're a small state with bad high school football that doesn't produce a lot of talent, and that's always going to pose challenges for us.

It's not a melt. It is what it is.

Doesn't make much sense for me to be disappointed as I've predicted the outcome of every game so far, but I am disappointed in our defense and that we are recruiting at a level that has a player like Josh Liddell starting for us.

I don't accept that. We need better recruiters on staff. Bret will have to start pulling more kids out of Texas and Florida to mix with the guys we get from Louisiana. That probably means staff changes, but I'm fine with that as long as we get results.

I'm realistic. Arkansas will probably never win a championship in my lifetime. I can accept that.

I can accept knowing you're probably going to get your shite pushed in by the best team in the country.

Arkansas sports is not my life it's what I follow, one of the things I follow to unwind that helps me destress while not working.

What I cannot and will not accept as a fan is lack of effort and lack of preparation.

I cannot accept starting a left guard in year 4 who just played dt and can't seem to grasp the concept of blocking the man right in front of you

I cannot accept Liddell being a 3 year starter and gerting trucked by bamas freshman rb then running away from the other freshman rb go let him score a touchdown

I cannot accept that it took an arse kicking like this to realize after 4 fricking years here for Bert to realize our defensive scheme sucks.

We have seriously regressed with probably the best defense we have had on paper in 10 years that is unacceptable.

I expect to not be humiliated by anyone in year 4?
