Everyone better hope Coach B's staff is as good as advertised because as the rankings show Petrino, Nutt and Coach B are all playing/have played with the same talent level at Arkansas for over a decade.

What hasn't shown is the stacked instate recruiting classes that Nutt and Petrino caught during their time here.

no shite recruiting is important

congrats on figuring that out

Calling a spade a spade. Mediocre recruiting by this "high profile" staff sitting in a new $41M facility.

Not impressed.

When was the last time a team of 85 that didn't have at least one top 15 class win the SEC?

Arkansas (3), MSU (1), SC (1), Missouri (1) all haven't gotten it down yet. It's just math.

Take a look at Michigan State's recruiting the past 5 years.

EXACTLY!

Petrino took us to the Sugar Bowl on our own Arkansas talent. Nutt got us beat in Atlanta twice. The jury is out on Coach B.

If he can continue to increase his recruiting out-of-state yearly with a resurgence of in-state talent along with good assistance we might have something. However, if the in-state talent is subpar he is stuck with Nutt recruiting and probably isn't the coach of Petrino.

yeah let's give them one year

These first two classes are obviously indicative of the future mediocre recruiting classes

Yup. let's not let the staff actually win some games and see how that affects the talent they bring in. Nope that'll never happen

Both of those coaches rode instate talent to success, yes, CBB hasn't had a class come along like that yet, you agree.

So CBB and staff is getting similar recruiting results while having to rely on OOS talent, so with a harder road he is matching the results of an easier road by the other two staffs, according to the rankings.

So if the recruiting is the same, but with OOS being the source, then similar results would be expected. Meaning a higher level of results could be achieved when the next super instate class comes about.

So, I'm not following your bitching.

Year two. The clock starts when you get a paycheck.

I posted a decade of recruiting by three different Arkansas coaches. Like it or not their is a history with many different staff combinations.

Just like Tennessee has been doing for the past 5 years?

Guess 2Bz should have won the super bowl his first year as a college coach without players that fit his system.

OK, I'm really not following now, Tennessee has been raking in top 15 classes for longer than their current losing season streak.

Yes. Neither of the former two coaches could recruit out-of-state.

IF the coaching is on the level of Petrino not if it's on Nutt's level.

Highest paid staff in history, $41M facility, same recruiting results while hoping for a upswing in in-state talent and hoping for Petrino coaching results.

I think Coach B is above Nutt and below Petrino in coaching. Recruiting, Coach B slightly above both thus far. However, our spending is drastically increased for the same results that find us outside of the top 25.

I also think it is poor decision making on the announcement of the DC and a laughable title bump for Shannon. Furthermore, no one has won the SEC outside of a top 15 class if it came from all in-state or out-of-state talent.

I expected more from this staff we are paying regardless of the roadblocks. He was given everything he asked for and we can't even crack the top 25 in recruiting for year two.

Unimpressed.

Guess what? The spending in ALL over college football has increased. So I guess you're saying we need to quit spending money on football until they produce?

I just hope we win an SEC game next year. two years of that shite is unacceptable. Bielema will get plenty of time but if he doesn't win an SEC game in year 2 it'll be cut short in some twitter shite talking fiasco between him and the fanbase that causes a divide. Imagine if nutt had twitter how bad shite would have gotten.

I'm not overly optomistic but hell who knows by next year i'm sure i'll be all excited about how we really developed this offseason so I guess I might as well jump on the bandwagon now.

I'm beginning to think Arkansas is just cursed.

You have to look at these arguments with Arkansas in a vacuum and consider no other outside variables or influences.

We are spending more, so by God it should be a top 10 class this year.

You throw out the word "coaching" out a lot but I don't think you know what it means. Is Bielema the offensive playcaller that Petrino was? frick no. But he has shown that he develops his players and sets up a program for LONG TERM success (something that Petrino seems to fail miserably at). He has consistently proven to be able to hire quality assistants that can recruit. He has a strength coach that gets the most out of the players. His teams play fundamentally sound football. And he doesn't overcrowd his favorite positions with his favorite players leaving other areas depleted and void of talent.

I'd repost why the star system is statistically irrelevant again but actual facts are ignored in favor of some ratings some people on the internet made up.

And he also recruits guys that don't steal shite and get arrested. We won the Fulmer Cup under BP and in the past year I don't even think we've had any arrests.

We're spending more on coaching. We need to up

quote:

1. Tennessee $1,479,099

2. Alabama $980,882

3. Auburn $950,378

4. Georgia Tech $883,430

5. Arkansas $666,419

this number. And we wonder why Tennessee can do it but we can't. They're over doubling our budget. frick flying Olinemen first class. fly everyone first class everywhere. better yet buy a fricking jet.
