You talk about the need for "impact defensive players" then talk about getting these players from Texas?

I never once said impact defensive players. Not once.

I'm for development yet developing only one 4* with the most potential on paper in two recruiting classes on defense isn't working for me.

Look how many Texans are in the NFL. (It's the most) Are you insinuating you cannot pull defensive kids from Texas?

Do you think stAte placed an athletic billboard in Fayetteville to attract athletes from NWA?

I hope ASU puts billboards everywhere and grows into a big University. Hold our lackluster shite accountable if they ever beat us. I'm not scared of ASU unlike some fellow hog fans. There is no such thing as bad advertisement unfortunately.

Because talking about it in the media, then redshirting the majority of the first class. Then the next year talk about how you plan on playing around the same amount as the first with the rest redshirting isn't enough?

Publicly announce it and put it into full effect. The fan base will behind you.

Nope. Keep them in development if you fully commit to it. Again, let the fan base know.

I would certainly use this outlet in your advertisements state wide.

Florida was 3-5 in the SEC last year.

Research. It's easy because you're already on the internet.

Try again. Print it out and put it on a billboard if you have to.

Also, if kickers were rated the same way as other players, Hedlund would be a high 4 star and perhaps a 5 star. That alone would put us in the top 20 this year.

Zero complaints on our kickers.

Some of them will. The rest will bitch about what a bad idea it is.

I'm asking why you think Texas recruits lack development coming out of HS.

Those kids start being trained towards football at 7 years old, if anything I'd back off of them for the fact that many of them do not live up to their rating as being at max potential in HS...

So you would be more satisfied with this class if 15 or so players were from Texas and it was ranked the same?

yeah let's add more competition for recruits considering we have shite for talent in the state. Sounds like a logical plan

Just have to spend more money, maybe this time to keep pace with the competition instead of trying to catch up again.

Listen here SanHug, turn that frown upside down. That meh attitude you have fractures your soul and taints your existence. Turn up and have a go at a split peach or two, then look at things with a better frame of mind.

I'm under the impression of all the 7 on 7 style Nike camps and spread offenses I've seen in Texas and played against many years ago.

I believe a good coach can take the right body, skills and agility and make them good football players. When multiple coaches and experts agree a kid is a 4* defensive talent from Texas doesn't mean you cannot transform him into SEC style defense.

Yes, I would be slightly happier based on laying a foundation like OU for Texans to head to the Hill among the massive student body heading their too. OU has talent, they just beat Alabama, however have previously been transformed into a spread style team for too long yet Auburn is spread based and won the SEC and played in the Natty.

As for the overall class I would still be underwhelmed for the various reasons I posted previously.

I certainly would like to pipeline into our neighbor state especially when we need to look out-of-state.

Coach B and the University of Arkansas wouldn't have put out an AD campaign for Texas recruits if they didn't think similar. If you're talking about a redshirt program, I don't see how you would disagree?

I am totally in for that. Kentucky and Louisville. (Kentucky has the least overall in-state talent pool of all SEC states)

It would be wonderful if ASU ever beat us for a 5* as the fan base would DEMAND a change and would get it or be ousted.

These guys are rated as 3*s.

OU has been pulling out of Texas the past couple of years and looking elsewhere for talent, they signed 7 Texas kinds in this year's class (4* RB, 5 DB/WR, 1 OG all 3*s). Notice how they OU is recruiting mainly the 7 on 7 positions?

Want to know who relies on Texas recruiting for their defense? OSU, signed 15 players from Texas, have you watched them attempt to play defense?

Texas, aTm, OSU all rely on every position on defense to be Texas kids, they all suck at defense.

OU has improved the defense by relying on Texas for CBs, Ss, S/LB types on that side of the ball. They are going into LA, AL, GA for d-linemen.

There is a reason for this.

Instead of taking secondary players from Texas, this staff is taking faster, more agile, better body type players from Florida.

Texas is where you go to get certain positions, mainly those used in 7 on 7, it isn't a place you want to build your entire roster, there isn't a single team building a solid defense with recruits from Texas. UT might with Strong, but that means all the elite prospect will end up at UT, only the left overs will be available.

Are we arguing Texas talent?

I'd be fine with never getting a defensive player out of Texas ever.

Soft, not mean enough.
