I've been saying this for years. SMU took one for the collective team. So, death penalty is off the table. Works for Auburn. Hell, they don't even really hide it. If you ain't cheatin', you ain't trying. Doing it the "right way" is what losers say after getting their asses handed to them.

Hell yes. We should just come right out and say it too. Announce that we will now be paying and providing benefits to recruits.
What's the NCAA going to do? Limit our scholarships? Like we care. We pay for players. Who needs scholarships.
Ban us from bowl games? Who gives a shite, we will still be undefeated every year. Not like we are making many bow games as it is

Top candidates that would actually come here in the next year or two...
1. Butch - Alum, dude will take any gig right now, put mad amounts of dudes in the league and will get his hands dirty.
2. Charlie - after Texas fires him he can step right in to a roster taylor made for his style and system, awesome recruiter and great defensive mind in the right situation.
3. Tom Herrman - dude is gonna have Houston rolling, Texas connections, runs Meyers power spread perfect for Arkansas, trained in Urban's sleazy recruiting tactics...perfect!
Those are my top 3 realistic guys...we have to get an ace recruiter with massive southern ties...no more tip toeing around paying kids...just do it and be like everybody else in the league who has kicked our arse for the last 4 years...

I would support firing Bert today and bringing in Butch Davis. He can start recruiting and we might have less turnover from the current roster if they have experience half of a season with him.
Of course Butch would have to be willing to do this and accept low pay

I'd take Morris right now. We need a potent offense to compete, and his Texas connections would be great for 'crootin.
I fricking hate to say this, but I'd take Gus. He knows the SEC, can coach offense, can recruit, and hires good assistants. I feel slimy for even mentioning his name, but I'd take him.

Kiffin is a horrible fit and dynamited Tennessee's program, and Strong's tenure at Texas has been abominable.
