Absolutely- this years experience could (knock on wood) turn out to be a great thing.

this is my issue. It's time to look at what mike is doing and evaluate why it's not working consistently. Is it bad roster management? Lack of recruiting? are we going to have to start over every few years after a decent run with a senior laden team? I understand drop offs but we've cratered this season. Mike gets the glory for coaching this team up but he also deserves the responsibility for lack of talent available.

You don't agree that we'd be in the post season this year with Babb and Williams on the roster?

shite happens and it happened all over this off season.

Yea, he shoulders a lot of blame but it was a ridiculously unlucky off season.

I expect us to be in the NCAAT the next two years and I'm willing to wait and see on that. That would be 3 out of 7. I can take that considering the shape the program was in when he took over.

I completely write off years 1 and 2 for him.

I refuse to be surprised that when a coach recruits a some character risks on to the team that members of team don't end up ineligible.

We'd possibly be in the post season if kapita qualified as well but that didn't happen either.

all this falls back to the head coach for high risk recruiting.

Ill admit, I liked what I saw last night. Anyone would.

I really liked that Miles didn't log very many minutes. I would like to see MA sub the rest of the season like he did last night. Against UGA, I thought he had a chance to open up a lead early in the game but instead, he decided to go on a mass subbing spree early. Taking both Bell and Hannah's out together is suicide with this club. The rotation he had against UGA with Beard, Thompson, Watkins, Whitt, and Kuoassi(sp) was flat out terrible and dug a hole.

Last night he seemed to go less mass subbing, which was a good adjustment I think.

IMO, the dynamics of what it takes to have a chance at a championship run has changed.

There are two routes:

1. Recruit a bunch of one-and-dones like Calipari.
2. Recruit a bunch of players that will stay around and develop them into a senior laden team.

Any scenario in between is iffy at best.

Miles logged 9 minutes. That is still too many IMO.

He had 4 blocks in those 9 minutes though, so he did at least contribute that.

I'm not worried about a championship i'm more concerned with making the tournament every year. Championships take a lot of luck and skill coming together all at the same time, I don't expect that from mike. I do expect us to be in the field of 68 each year, I don't think that is asking too much when your conference is baby soft and your out of conference isn't exactly a tour de big east or ACC.

I can agree with that. He's pretty much a total shite house. We just don't have a lot of options right now.

As shitty and stupid as Williams could be, he would have helped this team a lot with the scoring, defending and rebouding. It's a real shame Durham offers jack shite scoring wise, it would be huge if he could add 6-8 pts each game.

With Miles, it's just really hard to understand how he isn't better. He has the body, the athleticism and even "looks" like a player.

But yea, he's contributed F-all to be honest.

Won't be sad to see him graduate. Def. a bust.

Watkins FT percentage makes me want to punch myself in the face. 46%? You've got to be shitting me. I thought the game was over last night when he bricked those two.

This. Surely his father made him shoot free throws growing up. The son of a coach should have a higher percentage.

Watkins is like a bull in a china cabinet. He tries really hard you can tell but lord if stuff doesn't go wrong a lot of the times for him.

He did have a nice basket or two (??) down the stretch last night.

I feel like he's one of those players that should be better than he is but it's not really his fault, maybe he tries too hard. Just my completely not knowledgeable take on the situation.

He's a solid defender and I like how he goes to the goal but it's pointless when he's basically gauranteed to miss at least 1 FT.

That shite pisses me off beyond belief. Lock him in the F-ing gym every night and make him shoot 500/day if he's going to log those kind of minutes.

He's a walk on for sure.

It's just sad someone like him can't be a lights out shooter or something. Not trying to be a tough fight at Sonic guy but I could literally walk into a gym right now and hit 80% FTs out of 10-20 right now.

Unreal how shitty he is on the line. 42% f-ing percent? Does Deandre shoot higher than that?
